With the announcement of head coach Greg Schiano’s staff hiring’s, one thing is for sure; this team will be inexperienced. Under a veil of secrecy, Schiano has hired former Rutgers coaches P.J. Fleck, Robert Fraser, Brian Angelichio and Jeff Haley. None of them have NFL coaching experience. The current two possibilities for offensive coordinator are Bill Lazor from Virginia and Ron Turner. Thankfully, both men do have plenty of experience in the NFL though Lazor topped out as a quarterbacks coach with the Redskins and Seahawks. Ron Turner had a forgettable run as offensive coordinator with the Bears and last season was the Indianapolis Colts quarterbacks coach. The hire will finally address the offensive side but a defensive coordinator is still to be decided.
