TEAMS: Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals, San Diego Chargers, Seattle Seahawks
The Tennessee Titans today reportedly signed guard Deuce Lutui to a one-year deal. Lutui worked out for the Titans last week but the Titans waited until after Week 1 to sign them, likely because they can now cut him with no further obligation to pay his salary.
A second-round pick out of USC in 2006, Lutui spent the first six seasons of his career with the Arizona Cardinals, starting all 63 games he played in from 2007-10. He lost his starting job to Rex Hadnot last year, though. His old college coach Pete Carroll signed him in Seattle this offseason and he played against the Titans during the preseason, but did not make the team. Listed on his NFL.com player page at 6'4, 338 pounds, Lutui has struggled with his weight throughout his career and generally not played particularly well. If he's playing much, the Titans are probably in trouble unless he's made heretofore unobserved dramatic improvements.
In the past, including last season, the Titans have kept two...

Johnson's career-worst day prompts concerns
NASHVILLE Last season as he struggled game after game following a prolonged holdout, the Tennessee Titans' Chris Johnson showed a potentially volatile side of his personality as his team finished ranked 31st in the NFL in rushing.
With an offseason that went much more smoothly and in which the Titans made changes that would ostensibly fix those woes, much more was expected...
Titans Sign Free Agent OG Deuce Lutui
The Titans have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with guard Deuce Lutui, who worked out for the team last week. Lutui played for the Cardinals from 2006-11. He spent the offseason with the Seahawks, who released him last month.
Lutui was scheduled to fly to Nashville on Monday night and sign on Tuesday. The Titans will have to release a player from the 53-man roster to make room...
Tennessee Titans: What To Expect From Chris Johnson
Four was the magic number for Chris Johnson yesterday. Four yards rushing, 47 yards receiving, and four points for fantasy in non-PPR leagues. Certainly those who drafted Johnson spent either a first or second round pick to get the $53 million man. So if and when can owners expect a return on their lofty investment?Short answer - sometime soon. Johnson ebbs and flows around a...
Tennessee Titans: 2012 Week 2 Power Ranking (#11)
Last week: 8 (-3)
Record: 0-1
This is the last of the rankings that don’t make any sense, I promise. Before the season, I had the Titans as better than the Ravens. Are Titans better than Ravens? Probably not, but I’m not flip flopping after 1 week. I’d rather just be wrong than flip flop and turn out to be right all along. The Titans ran into the wrong team last week, while...
RB Ringer in, out of hospital with infected elbow
Tennessee running back Javon Ringer has an infection in his left elbow that ballooned up before the Titans' season opener with the New England Patriots. Titans coach Mike Munchak says he has been in and out of the hospital for treatment.
Munchak said Monday that Ringer had some swelling in the elbow Friday, but the infection worsened Saturday night. That's when the Titans...
Titans reportedly ‘grumbling’ about OC Chris Palmer
Entering his second year in Tennessee, offensive coordinator Chris Palmer was tasked with starting a young, somewhat unproven quarterback, reviving a once record-setting running back, and incorporating a rookie receiver into an inconsistent passing attack.
It goes without saying that Palmer has his work cut out for him, especially after the team's 34-13 blowout loss to...
Jake Locker Gets Good News On MRI
Good news for fantasy owners. Titans quarterback Jake Locker (shoulder) had an MRI on Monday which showed no structural damage, according to an ESPN report.Fantasy Spin:Locker left Sunday's game after injuring his non-throwing shoulder. He threw for 229 yards, a touchdown and one interception against New England. He wants to play in Week 2 against San Diego with a brace on his left shoulder.
Titans WR Nate Washington Diagnosed With A Leg Contusion
Both quarterback Jake Locker and receiver Nate Washington were hurt on a fourth-quarter play that was originally ruled a catch-and-fumble.
Washington was blasted on a hit by Jerod Mayo and was on the ground motionless for a moment, while Locker injured his left non-throwing shoulder tackling Patrick Chung, who had picked up the loose ball and ran with it.
Washington was officially...
Titans DT Sen'Derrick Marks, RB Javon Ringer Among Inactives Vs Patriots
The Titans will take on the Patriots without defensive tackle Sen'Derrick Marks. Rookie Mike Martin will start in his spot. Also out is No. 2 running back Javon Ringer (elbow). Look for Darius Reynaud to get some work when Chris Johnson is out of the lineup, perhaps on third downs.
The full list of inactives: DT Sen'Derrick Marks, QB Rusty Smith, RB Javon Ringer, LB Zac...
Titans' Locker hurts shoulder again
For the second time in this young NFL season, the Tennessee Titans are dealing with The Hurt Locker.
Titans quarterback Jake Locker injured his left, non-throwing shoulder after being sacked in the first quarter of 38-14 road loss to the Houston Texans. He returned to the sideline in the second quarter in street clothes with his left arm in a sling.
Locker hurt the same shoulder...
Titans Have No Plans To Reduce RB Chris Johnson
In Tennessee, coach Mike Munchak said the team isn't going to bench Chris Johnson or take away his carries, this all sounds very familiar. (Especially to Johnson's 2011 fantasy owners.)
"I think we'll roll with who we have," Munchak said. "C.J. caught six balls. He did a good job there. He's still a big weapon there."
Johnson wasn't a big...
Titans see gap in 34-13 loss to Patriots
Mistakes, blown chances, and a long day for quarterback Jake Locker in his first career start for the Tennessee Titans.
Not a winning formula, especially when the New England Patriots are the opponent.
Locker threw for 229 yards and a touchdown, but had two turnovers and was sacked twice as the Patriots beat the Titans 34-13 on Sunday.
The Titans also missed tackles and couldn...
