Pro Football Zone:
The Steelers and Titans face off at Heinz Field this Sunday afternoon. These teams met last season, and the Titans came out victorious that night. Like last year, the Steelers are undoubtedly the more talented of the two teams. Of course, that didn’t mean much last year, so this could be a toughly contested match-up.
Jake Locker started 11 games for the Titans in 2012. Locker threw for 10 touchdowns, 11 picks, and 2,176 yards. Locker’s accuracy as a passer is very inconsistent. He’s also very poor at handling pressure. And it’s also been said that Locker could be used in the read option; that’ll be something interesting to watch.
Ben Roethlisberger is entering his 10th year of his NFL career. I’ve said this 1,000 times, or at least that’s how much I’ve felt I said it: Roethlisberger must have a big year in 2013 in order for the Steelers to be successful. And for that to happen, he must remain healthy for at least 13 games. Ben was playing like an MVP until he was inj...

Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin made it official on Tuesday that Isaac Redman would start against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. “We know what Isaac is capable of,” said Tomlin, via the team’s website. “He
The Pittsburgh Steelers defense has a long and storied existence, known for the 3-4 zone blitz, they have been the trademark of the franchise. With the offense in transition, 2013 will be a year where the team will lean on the defense early in the season.
Cornerback Isaiah Green cleared waivers Tuesday and the Pittsburgh Steelers signed him to their practice squad on Wednesday.
Green had originally made the Steelers 53 man roster but was waived Monday when the team claimed defensive back Antwon Blake off of waivers from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
To make room for Green on the practice squad, the Steelers released cornerback Devin Smith...
So far, so good for Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu, who looks as though he might finally have the calf problem that has plagued him for the last four seasons behind him.
Head coach Mike Tomlin was asked Tuesday during his press conference if this year's version of Polamalu looks better than he has in previous years and while the Steelers head coach said he's not...
Chris Johnson looks around the Tennessee Titans and sees an untapped run threat. Not Shonn Greene, though he expects the running back to be a big help too.
Try quarterback Jake Locker.
Johnson said Thursday athletic quarterbacks have made teams like Carolina with Cam Newton, Washington with Robert Griffin III and Seattle with Russell Wilson difficult to defend. Colin Kaepernick...
The Tennessee Titans have been without two of their more promising young players for much of the preseason. However, Jim Wyatt from the Tennessean reported on Monday that both Akeem Ayers and Kendall Wright will play in the season opener against the Pittsburg Steelers, according to Coach Munchak.
Munchak said Akeem Ayers and Kendall Wright a go for Sunday's game #Titans
Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark never wanted to be a captain. When his teammates failed to name him one during his collegiate career at LSU, Clark says he was relieved.
Still, Clark didn't turn the honor down when the Steelers named him one of four captains for the 2013 season. The 11-year veteran called it a ''blessing'' and feels he's at the point...
Now that the Titans have made the cuts necessary to get down to 53, it is time for me to take my promised look at the shape and form of the roster.
First, let's take a look at the positional distribution of the Titans as they stand right now, with the number of players at the position on the roster for the first game last year in parentheses:
QB: 2 (3)
RB/FB: 5 (5)...
According to Art Stapleton of The Record, former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jonathan Dwyer worked out for the New York Giants on Tuesday. Hearing FA RBs Beanie Wells + Jonathan Dwyer were among those at #NYG workouts today. Doesn't sound like Wells' knee has improved from June — Art Stapleton (@art_stapleton) September 3, 2013 Dwyer, […]

It’s that time of year again. Football has so saturated the fibers of my being that I have begun dreaming of the game. Not even the far and dark recesses of the subconscious can hold out the obsessive relationship I have with the NFL, specifically the team with whom I align myself, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Last night after receiving smack-talk dream texts from Baltimore friends...
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed today that running back Isaac Redman will start in this week’s opener against the Titans.

Even with Redman starting, Felix Jones and LaRod Stephens-Howling will get a share of the load.

By Matthew Marczi It was an unlikely Labor Day for the Pittsburgh Steelers yesterday, who rarely see fit to do much tinkering with their roster. This year, however, is different, as they added two players that they presumably believe will help bolster their special teams performance in 2013, which has been an area of concern […]
Steelers Hope Pair Of Roster Transactions Will Help...
The Pittsburgh Steelers decided that they need a significant upgrade at the running back position during this spring’s NFL Draft. They selected the prolific scoring machine, Le’Veon Bell with hopes he would become the team’s every down back, something unique in today’s NFL game.
Bell appeared in just one NFL preseason game and sustained a foot injury. Originally thought of...
Pittsburgh Steelers rookie Le’Veon Bell has been ruled out of Sundays season opener but head coach Mike Tomlin says that he could participate in practice this week. That’s pretty impressive as just a few weeks ago it was thought he’d miss significant time with a Lisfranc injury, which turned out to be just a sprained ankle. If Bell does indeed practice this week I’d say...
The season is not getting off to a good start for Pittsburgh Steelers fullback Will Johnson, who will more than likely sit out the Sunday season opener at Heinz Field against the Tennessee Titans with a hamstring injury that he suffered in the preseason finale against the Carolina Panthers.
With Will Johnson likely to be sidelined, the Steelers might very well use a fullback by committee...
