Texas Longhorns Position Preview: Safeties

Position Rating: C- Despite having NFL caliber players the Texas defense has given up record numbers through the air to opposing offenses in recent years. This season the Horns will rely on FIVE freshmen at safety to try to turn their pass defense around. The starters against FAU will be redshirt freshman Earl Thomas and true freshman Blake Gideon. Texas fans are hoping pure talent and mythical defensive coordinator Will Muschamp will be enough to overcome the inexperience.
