Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he was impressed by Stephen McGee’s performance in the first half against the Dolphins.

“I think we have some things out of McGee tonight that are really encouraging,” he said in a television interview. “It's been vintage McGee. Other teams have shown interest in Stephen McGee. We know somebody thinks he's a pretty good ball player. We do, too.”

McGee completed eight of 15 passes for 119 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions in the first half. He led the Cowboys to a 20-6 lead and had a 79.6 passer rating.

Jones said the Cowboys have to think about McGee versus the 53rd player on the roster when cut-downs are made this week.

“If we think we can live with him or we do we think we need a third quarterback,” Jones said. “That will be something we'll go through tonight after the game, and we'll make a decision tomorrow."

Jones: We didn't create Dez rules

The guidelines by which Dez Bryant must abide by if he wants to remain a part of the Cowboys have received much scrutiny over the last few days, but the team's outspoken owner says they weren't the team's idea.

Report: Dez Bryant rules came from Bryant’s camp

After learning of the Dez Bryant rules that were apparently mandated by the Cowboys, there was talk that the rules could violate the CBA. But according to 105.3 The Fan, the rules don’t actually violate the CBA. Mainly because the rules were not handed down by the Cowboys. Instead, it was Dez Bryant’s inner circle that created the rules and presented them to the Cowboys. Of course...

Avoid Jason Witten for week one

Jerry Jones informed us today that it is “not impossible” that Jason Witten suits up and plays against the Cowboys on Wednesday. Now, I am not a psych major, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but when an owner uses a double negative to describe the status of a player, it is not good news. As far as the fantasy football community is concerned, this should serve...
