Peter King of Sports Illustrated has a “feeling” that Broncos vice president of football operations John Elway could convince owner Pat Bowlen that DB Darrelle Revis is “the missing piece to a championship team.“ King also mentions that the Kansas City Chiefs could be in play for the corner as well since the team has upwards of $17 million of cap space to work with right now. The San Francisco 49ers are another team to watch when “they dump Alex Smith before April 1.“ There are reportedly a number suitors for Revis, but the problem is still related to the compensation that teams would have to send to the Jets and the amount of money that they would have to pay Revis annually. There’s no question that he’s talented, but it’s hard to commit to parting with a first and third round pick and then hand out a huge contract to a player that’s coming off of a serious knee injury. Either way, there figures to be plenty of Revis news and speculation in the coming months.   The post The Broncos...

How a Darrelle Revis Trade to the Giants Would Help Both Teams

If Jets fans thought that the Darrelle Revis situation was as bad as it could get, they are sorely mistaken.  The only thing that could make this worse would be if the Giants called the Jets and inquired about the All-Pro cornerback and then dealt him to the team that shares the same stadium as them. Imagine that?  Revis going to the cross-town rival where he terrorizes receivers...

Should the Jets trade Darrelle Revis?

The reasons for not trading Darrelle Revis are obvious. When healthy, this guy is not only the Jets’ best player, but probably the best defensive back in the entire NFL and maybe even the best overall defensive player in the NFL. Including this year, when he played just 1 ½ games thanks to injury, Revis has allowed 153 completions on 371 attempts (41.2%) for 1946 yards (5.2 YPA...

Peter King Introduces Us To Mensch of the Year, Alex ‘Embattled’ Smith

When last we left local quasi-man, Peter King, he was detailing his love of wunderkinds, a true rarity because society typically shuns people with vision and useful ideas. John Harbaugh told Peter that a Harbaugh Bowl was a triumph for the American Dream because his grandparents were immigrants. Previous to this year, all Super Bowl coaches were Native Americans.
