The Cleveland Browns are “America’s Team”…….let it sink in……..has it set in yet? The Cleveland Browns are “America’s Team”. With the Cleveland Browns set to play the Dallas Cowboys in Jerry Jones’ stadium. I get extra excited for this game, because I live in Dallas, TX. I have over a dozen family members and friends who have relocated to the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex.  This is where the jobs are located. There is no recession in Texas. The weather in November started at 88 degrees and will cool out to 60 degrees by December.  I Love Cleveland. I Love It and one day I want to tell the story of Cleveland, one of the most underrated cities in the United States in the meantime though, I will be in Texas. Back to Football. The nickname originated with the Cowboy team’s 1978 highlight film, where the narrator opens with the following introduction: They appear on television so often that their faces are as familiar to the public as presidents and movie stars. They are the Dallas Cowboys, “America’s Team” The same thing goes for the in the Pitts boring Stealers. They were the only two teams who were represented in the 70’s thanks to Super Bowl runs. The Dolphins were dominant too, I know. For one anyone who knows anything about giving nicknames, they know: You can’t give yourself your own nickname, that’s kind of lame. I am not affiliated with the Cleveland Browns organization so I therefore declare the Cleveland Browns “America’s Team”. Oh Shut up Green Bay Packers fan, we know you are the first Super Bowl Champions ever and the second. The trophy is named after your coach, and you are owned by your fans. I give you more credit than the Cowgirls but it actually leads me to my point. Football is tradition, and The Cleveland Browns are full of it tradition. I love to hear the story about how Condoleezza Rice is a huge Browns fan and she grew up watching the games in Alabama. Listen hearer folks were not talking NFL network and ESPN.  If Condoleezza Rice was watching the Browns in Alabama, it’s because that was the only game that was on. The Cincinnati Bengals only exist because of the now deceased former owner of The Cleveland Browns “America’s Team” fired Paul Brown in 1963. Paul Brown went to Cincinnati and made our little sisters the Bengals. The only difference was the brown in the uniform was now black. At the end of the Day they are the Browns little sisters and we pretty much made them. Then we have our purple headed step child the Baltimore Ravens, you know we made you. You know IT. Other than the Kardiac Kids, and the Bernie Kosar run there has not been much to celebrate when it comes to the Cleveland Browns -“America’s Team”. As Americans, deep down we are always rooting for the little guy. , Well that is Cleveland now. But at the same time we like to Jump on the Bandwagon. Can anyone say Yankees? We don’t hear much from those guys these days, lol. But that brings me to my point. We are just quiet now. We are starting to rumble a little because we can see a glimpse of the future. There are a lot of Condoleezza Rice’s out there people who grew up with the Browns. The Bandwagon will fill up like you have never seen when the Browns finally win the Super Bowl or at least become competitive consistently. I saved the best for last: Browns Backers Browns Backers Worldwide (BBW). It is the largest sports-fan organization in the USA. Browns Backers clubs can be found in every major city in the United States, and in a number of military bases throughout the world.  The Browns Backers has a sizable foreign presence in places as far away as Egypt, Australia, Japan, Sri Lanka, and McMurdo Station in Antarctica. A 2006 study conducted by Bizjournal determined that Browns fans are the most loyal fans in the NFL. The study, while not scientific, was largely based on fan loyalty during winning and losing seasons, attendance at games, and challenges confronting fans (such as inclement weather or long-term poor performance of their team). The study noted that Browns fans filled 99.8% of the seats at Cleveland Browns Stadium during the last seven seasons, despite a combined record of 36 wins and 76 losses over that span. Thanks Wiki. I say all that to say this. The Cleveland Browns are “America’s Team”. The facts are the facts
