Whenever Tom Coughlin does end his run as coach of the New York Giants, there's a decent chance that he'll write a book. When he does write that book, one of the most interesting chapters is going to be the one that discusses why his Giants teams have such an alarming propensity to play flat, uninspired football in games that they absolutely have to win. One of the games that deserves prime placement in that chapter is Sunday night's contest with the Eagles. Facing a quarterback who hadn't started in a year and an Eagles defense that has been overrun more often than Zuccotti Park, the Giants played as listless a game as they have all season. So it was little surprise that they wound up losing 17-10. Culprits were everywhere you looked. Eli Manning threw an awful interception, receivers dropped a slew of passes, the offensive line couldn't block in any phase of the game and they actually gave DeSean Jackson another chance to beat them on a punt return. Coughlin rips 'O' line again

Tom Coughlin ripped his offense -- in particular his offensive line -- when he spoke after Sunday night's loss, noting that they were "completely outplayed" and calling the 29 rushing yards they produced "about as pathetic as it can get." With his temper somewhat cooled off Monday, Coughlin stood by those remarks.

As expected, Coughlin was very unhappy with Giants’ effort after loss to Eagles

Two weeks ago, everybody was praising the New York Giants and their ability to get things done with major injuries to their secondary, a group of young linebackers, a revived front four, and the improved efforts of Eli Manning. Then came two straight close losses — one to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 10 and another to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night — and now, things...

The feeling of euphoria and invincibility the New York Giants had after beating the New England Patriots two weeks ago is gone. Long gone. It's been replaced by disappointment, anger and frustration in the wake of consecutive losses to the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles that has wiped out their two-game lead in the NFC East.
