In the excitement of interviewing Brandon Pettigrew (and Justin Durant, keep your eyes peeled), plus adding stat analysis to my weekly film study, PLUS all the various pre-Christmas festivities, it’s been a wild, wild weekend here at TLiW Headquarters. Normally, I’d power through and do a full Watchtower, but look: Hue Jackson has the most ridiculous resume I’ve ever seen. Since starting out as a grad assistant at Pacific, Jackson has been promoted, or taken a new gig, nearly every single year. He’s worked at almost every level of college, the NFL, and even the World League of American Football. He’s coached under all kinds of coaches in all kinds of systems, from Marty Schottenheimer to Steve Spurrier and everyone in between. His offensive coordinator is Al Saunders, a prominent disciple of Don Coryell (along with Norv and Ron Turner, Mike Martz, etc.). But I’d need do to some pretty extensive digging to confidently say how much Air Coryell exists in the Raiders’ current attack. ...

Schwartz: Fairley effective when he's healthy

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Nick Fairley has been in and out of the lineup all season -- he was back on the field for Sunday's game against the Raiders -- but Lions coach Jim Schwartz said all the roster shuffling hasn't stunted his rookie defensive tackle's growth.

The Detroit Lions get one step closer to reaching NFL playoffs

The Detroit Lions took one step closer to reaching the NFL playoffs yesterday after coming away with a 28-27 win against the Oakland Raiders. The Detroit Lions required blocked field goal from DT Ndamukong Suh late in the game in order to seal the win. Suh was able to get his right thumb on a 65-yard Sebastian Janikowski attempt. Hue Jackson Figured McClain Could Cover Megatron

Everyone is an armchair quarterback. I'm one of them. You know, questioning every decision that a coach or player makes. Some of the criticism is warranted, some isn't. But a few things Oakland Raiders coach Hue Jackson did Sunday against the Detroit Lions made me scratch my head. First was the third and two deep ball Carson Palmer threw to Chaz Schilens that fell incomplete...

Raiders RB McFadden expected to miss seventh straight game

Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden is expected to sit out Week 15’s game against the Detroit Lions. McFadden has missed the last six games after suffering a Lisfranc injury in his right foot in Week 7. He has rushed for 614 yards and four touchdowns in seven games. The Raiders have leaned on backup Michael Bush in the running game, getting 764 yards and seven touchdowns from Bush.

The Lady Raiders Calendar Release Party

Nope, this isn’t the Oakland Raiders.  This would be the Richmond Raiders.   And their cheerleaders are just as attractive as any NFL cheerleader so I’m really happy to be notifying the public that this squad has got their own calendar. The Lady Raiders will be appearing throughout the community to promote the calendar and the upcoming Raiders arena football season...
