The Eagles have had a number of problems this season. However, they finally have a good problem. They have two very capable quarterbacks who can win football games. The only issue is which quarterback to go with moving forward.
It used to be an unwritten rule that you couldn’t lose your job due to injury. I hope Michael Vick doesn’t believe that. Let’s remember that Vick took over the starting job after Kevin Kolb was hurt. He played at a very high level and Andy Reid couldn’t remove him from the lineup. The same type of thing happened in San Francisco last year. Alex Smith was playing very well but lost his starting job when he got hurt and Colin Kaepernick came in and dominated.
So here we are. Vick went down during the Giants game. Nick Foles came in and played well. He made his first start of the season against the Bucs and played very well again. So as Vick moves towards being deemed “ready” this week, will that launch him back into the starting lineup? Can Chip Kelly sit the hot hand?
At this point, I think you have to stick with Foles. He has been extremely efficient, completing over 67% of his passes so far this season. He is making smart decisions and is yet to turn the ball over. Clearly, he doesn’t have the play making ability with his legs that Vick does, but I think he’s looked good in moving out of the pocket and throwing the ball on the run.
Also, when you look at the quarterback play from when Vick went down, it never dropped off. It actually has improved a bit. This says a lot to me because Vick was playing pretty well through the first four games of the season before going down against the Giants.
There really is no reason to not start Foles against the Cowboys. He has done nothing but play at a high level since stepping in for Vick. I think he has earned the opportunity to get the starting nod this weekend. He’s executing the offense at a very high level, and he deserves the chance to continue that trend unless he shows otherwise.
This is not to be negative towards Vick. Part of the reason I feel Foles should start is that Vick will be there ready to be called on if necessary. I also feel confident with Vick’s abilities and play he has shown so far this season. However, I don’t think you can just move away from the hot hand and right now that is Nick Foles.

Nick Foles led the Philadelphia Eagles to their third win of the season in beating the Bucs at home, 31-20. There were plenty of positives to take from the game yesterday, but there were still some nagging negatives.
Let’s get right to it…

Of course we have to start with Nick Foles. For the most part...
The Philadelphia Eagles routed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-20 on Sunday with Nick Foles turning in an impressive performance while filling in for injured QB Mike Vick. Vick suffered a hamstring injury last week against the New York Giants and Foles replaced him, guiding the Eagles to a victory. Should Nick Foles remain the Philadelphia Eagles QB, even if Mike Vick is healthy and...
Eagles quarterback Michael Vick practiced on a limited basis Tuesday, but there is no word on his status for Sunday's game vs. Dallas.
Vick suffered a hamstring injury against the New York Giants two weeks ago and missed last Sunday's game at Tampa Bay. He threw passes on Tuesday, did some light jogging, and worked in individual drills for Philadelphia (3-3). But he did...
Eagles quarterback Michael Vick described his hamstring injury as a "bad pull" Tuesday and said he was only at "60 65 percent" last week.
He would not put a percentage on where he is now. He did not go as far as saying he can't play Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys but he sounded like a man resigned to missing his second consecutive start.

The quarterback watch at One Novacare Way stretched to it's second Thursday practice.
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly refused to rule Michael Vick out of Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys in spite of the quarterback admitting...
A discouraged Michael Vick said Wednesday he hopes his hamstring injury isn’t a long-term one.
Vick has already missed 1½ games with a nagging hamstring injury that is healing very slowly and it now looks very unlikely he’ll be able to play against the Cowboys at the Linc on Sunday.
When will he be back? He has no idea.
“I want to get back out there but I can’t” Vick...
Nick Foles was spotted taking the first team snaps for the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday.
Similar to last week Foles is taking the first team snaps with Matt Barkley operating second and Michael Vick third. This is not exactly a surprise after Vick said he still away from being 100 percent.
Drills are same as last week: Foles first, Barkley second, Vick third. #EaglesTalk...
Who said Nick Foles couldn’t run the ball?
Michael Vick is on the sidelines in Tampa boiling right now as the Buccaneers allowed Nick Foles and the Eagles to drive all the way down the field.
Foles capped the drive with an unread option like quarterback draw.
H/T Bleacher Report
Nick Foles has been awarded the title of NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his amazing game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Foles threw for 296 yards and 3 touchdowns, completing 71% of his passes. He also ran in a score from 4 yards out.
Foles’ Total QBR on Sunday was 89.8. For a little perspective, Peyton Manning’s Total QBR for the entire 2013 season is 90.1.
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Nick Foles threw three touchdown passes and ran for a fourth, leading the Philadelphia Eagles to a 31-20 victory over the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

Nick Foles leads the Eagles to a 31-20 victory, the team’s third win of the season, the second of his career, and his second in Tampa Bay.
Philly became just the third team in the history of the NFL to accumulate over 400 yards of total offense through their first six games of the season (the Broncos would become the fourth later that afternoon). They moved the ball well in spurts...
QBAdd– Nick Foles – Foles is the perfect bye week fill in for Drew Brees owners and those looking for much needed points from the QB position for a crucial week 7 win. It has been an inauspicious start for the NFC East. Collectively, its teams have notched seven wins through six weeks of the season. (To give this figure proper context, the AFC West claims 17 victories to its credit, with the NFC West right behind at 15.) A perennial playoff contender, the Giants are winless through six games. Washington's franchise player has been a shell of...
Quarterback Champs:Cam Newton- 20/26, 242 yards, 3 TDs; 9 Rush, 30 yards, Rush TD- 30.6 fantasy pointsWhelp, Cam produced on this day, but he continues to be quite the rollercoaster ride. Let me point out that it’s not a pleasant ride, it’s more like riding space mountain directly after eating Mexican. His last three performances have yielded 30.6, 6.7, and 29.3 points, respectively...
