PLAYERS: Tim Tebow
TEAMS: New York Jets
There is one of two things that should be done with Tim Tebow. Either let him be a full-time quarterback or turn him into a utility guy. The Jets tried to do both and they failed miserably. It has to be one or another. According to USA Today the Jets had plans of turning into a RB and sharing carries with Shonn Green. I said this when Tebow was signed with the Jets, don’t call him a backup QB if you don’t want him playing QB full-time. In the end it just ended up being a distraction and fail all the way around.

NFL Rumors: What becomes of QB Tim Tebow now?

The Jacksonville Jaguars put an end to all the speculation and rumors that the franchise would be bringing in Tim Tebow next season. Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell told reporters yesterday that there would be open competition at the quarterback position next season, but it won’t include Tim Tebow. With a release likely coming from the New York Jets, what does the future...

Jaguars general manager should learn league rules, Tim Tebow

The Jacksonville Jaguars hired David Caldwell as the team’s general manager in recent days, and he took little time to fire head coach Mike Malarkey. Perhaps Mr.Caldwell should pay attention to some league rules before speaking about players that are under contract with other teams. Tim Tebow has been rumored to be on the radar of the Jacksonville Jaguars, but coaches are not allowed...

Jaguars no longer want Tebow

Tim Tebow won't be playing for his hometown team. The Jacksonville Jaguars made it clear Thursday that they have no plans to pursue the popular and polarizing New York Jets backup quarterback. The Jets are likely to release the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner and Jacksonville native during the offseason, and many believed Tebow would land with the Jaguars. But new general manager...

Report: Jets wanted to use Tebow as a running back

When the trade was announced last Spring that would bring Tim Tebow to the New York Jets, many were left scratching their heads. Had the team lost all confidence in Mark Sanchez? Did Rex and Woody fall in love with Tebow after he led a comeback win against the stout Jets defense? Was it a ploy to sell PSLs? The answer to all those questions might actually be a resounding yes. But...

Report: Jets planned on using Tim Tebow as a running back

According to Mike Garafolo of USA Today Sports, the New York Jets planned on lining quarterback Tim Tebow up as a running back, but never got around to it. The team had visions of lining up Tebow at running back in traditional sets when they acquired him via trade from the Denver Broncos last March, according to a person with knowledge of the team’s plans at the time of the trade...

Jags GM: I can't see Tebow here

Jacksonville's new GM David Caldwell says that even if the Jets release Tim Tebow, he doesn't see the polarizing QB being a good fit for the Jaguars 2013 roster.

Jets reportedly planned to make Tim Tebow a running back

Tim Tebow and the New York Jets are parting ways after what developed into a disappointing season for both parties. Tebow accepted a trade to the Jets — and actually picked them over the Jacksonville Jaguars — because he believed he would have a good chance of becoming the starting quarterback there. Though Mark Sanchez’s poor play certainly merited a quarterback switch, Tebow...

Former Jets coach Mike Westhoff: Tim Tebow situation was an absolute mess

Former New York Jets special teams coach Mike Westhoff, who recently announced that he is retiring, was one of a number of people who had a first-hand look at the failure that was the Tim Tebow situation in New York this past season. On Friday morning, Westhoff appeared on WQAM Sports Radio in Miami and pulled no punches when discussing where it all went wrong. “It was a mess,...

Jaguars Rumors: Jacksonville Won’t Acquire Tim Tebow

New Jacksonville Jaguars general manager David Caldwell made it clear yesterday during his introductory press conference that he’s not planning to acquire quarterback Tim Tebow from the New York Jets, reports Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com. "I can't imagine a scenario where he would be a Jacksonville Jaguar," Caldwell said at his introductory news conference. Caldwell...

What took so long? Jets finally fire Tony Sparano

We could've sworn this already happened. It was such a no-brainer that Jets offensive coordinator Tony Sparano would be fired, that we thought it had already happened along with GM Mike Tannenbaum getting the ax. But it actually happened this morning, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported. Eight days into 2013. So head coach Rex Ryan conveniently goes on vacation while the...

New York Jets 2013 Needs

Several teams had worse years than the Jets, but I don’t think anyone had a weirder year. Turned into a circus in the offseason by the media, the Jets lived up to the hype. Neither Mark Sanchez nor Tim Tebow led a touchdown drive all pre-season, but after a blowout win over the Bills week 1 and another win against the Dolphins week 3, this time in overtime, the Jets stood at 2...
