Saturday’s NFL action started with a barn-burner and ended with a merciless slaughter. Sunday’s slate is going to have a hard time following it up, but that won’t stop me from writing another edition of The Opening Drive! (11-6) Houston Texans at(12-4) Baltimore Ravens1:00 PM ET, CBS After putting down the Bengals last week, the Texans stay in the AFC North but get a serious upgrade in competition. T.J. Yates hasn’t exactly been lighting up the scoreboard but he’s gotten by due to a fantastic Houston rushing attack behind a great offensive line that clears holes for Arian Foster. To beat Baltimore though, Yates will need more of those deep throws to Andre Johnson to pull the defense away from the line of scrimmage. The Ravens secondary has grown during the year, but they’re still not totally battle-tested. Baltimore will surely be gearing up to stop the run before all else. That rookie QB is going to have to stand up to a pass rush that includes H...

Classic "bend but don't break"--- Ravens 20, Texans 13

It was a game that almost got away from the Ravens. The Houston Texans' excellent blocking schemes foiled the Ravens' defensive front pressure on young T.J. Yates for most of the day. Yates had several chances to bring the Texans back into this thing...But in the end, it was the Ravens' underrated secondary defense which saved the day, and basically ruined a pretty good...

The Houston Texans' Playoff Run Ends On A Pass

Even the most devout Texans fan had to question how far rookie quarterback TJ Yates could carry them into the playoffs. The answer? To the Baltimore 38 yard line at the two-minute warning of the AFC Divisional Championship game. Friend of TGS Patty Hsieh of The Pigskin Arch made a bold prediction: the Houston Texans would make three bone-headed plays in this game against the Ravens...

NFL Sunday Divisional Round Picks Against the Spread

HOUSTON TEXANS (+7.5) @ BALTIMORE RAVENS I think you go points here. The Texans defense should be able to keep the Texans in this game. Both defenses give up an average of 17 PPG. Both offenses score about 24 PPG. This is a very even matchup. I think this spread should be more like +4.5. Houston is giving up just 85.7 rushing yards per game in their last 3. I think you see the Texans...

NFL Divisional Playoffs: Ravens Defense Leads Baltimore to Victory over Texans

Monday Roundup: End of the Road

After a season filled with adversity and injuries the Houston Texans season ended in Baltimore with a 20-13 defeat at the hands of the Ravens. This game will leave a bad taste in the Texans players mouths for the coming months. With ample opportunities for the offense to win this game, the Texans came up short despite a valiant effort from their defense. Trust us when we are grateful...

T J Yates Throws Houston Chances Of A Win To Baltimore’s Ed Reed

The Houston Texans had a chance to drive down the field and tie the game with a touchdown and the P.A.T., T J Yates was moving the Texans down the field when he decided he would go for the huge pay day. He released a pass deep down field looking for Johnson to make yet another spectacular catch as he has done so many times this season. Yates threw a bullet all the way down to the...
