It is embarrassing.  Whether you are the team with history on your side, or an upstart looking to make history.  It is embarrassing.  Losing consecutive games and not living up to the potential. No one is immune to it.  Every franchise has felt its share of buckling at the knees.  The difference is some of the franchises learn how to right the ship.  Others get caught up in that downward spiral and can't get out. Is is the fault of the new coach with the old style cut off hoodie?   Or do you blame it on ill advised off season purchases, getting nothing for lots of something? Whatever the reason, it is embarrassing.  And here are five of the most embarrassing in-season collapses.

Eagles Squeak By Buccaneers: Hero & Zero of the Game

Going into Sunday afternoon's game, it had been 70 days since the Philadelphia Eagles tasted victory. To put their losing streak into perspective, 69 days ago from Sunday, the Eagles' allies from across the street, the Phillies, had won a game more recently than them.70 days later, the Eagles finally showed up with what they had been missing -- heart.Rookie quarterback Nick...

Eagles TE Brent Celek Sustains Concussion

Add Brent Celek to the list of Philadelphia Eagles starters, also including Michael Vick and LeSean McCoy, dealing with concussions. The tight end sustained a head injury on the first play from scrimmage during yesterday’s 23-21 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, reports Zach Berman of the Philadelphia Inquirer. "For him to go out, I'll tell you it was a pretty...

Jeremy Maclin Questionable For Week 15

Philadelphia receiver Jeremy Maclin, who caught nine passes for 104 yards and the game-winning touchdown on 13 targets Sunday against the Buccaneers, is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against Cincinnati.Fantasy Spin:Maclin has struggled with injuries and ineffectiveness all season so it's going to be difficult to trust him on four days against the Bengals, but...

Some Thoughts After The Eagles Win Against The Bucs

Going into Sunday’s game at Tampa Bay, there were two things I wanted to see out of the Eagles. First and foremost was improvement out of Nick Foles. The second was improvement from the defense. Win or lose, I didn’t care too much as long as I saw those things. Let’s start with Foles. Week by week, he is making positive strides. With the announcement that Michael Vick...

Jason Avant Makes Incredible Over-the-Head, One-Handed Catch (Animation)

The Philadelphia Eagles have had a tough 2012, losing starting quarterback Michael Vick and their last eight games. But on Sunday, there was a bright spot. Rookie quarterback Nick Foles hit wide receiver Jason Avant for a 20-yard snag in the second quarter of their game in Tampa Bay. Avant’s incredible body control and slick mitts allowed him to haul in the pass, making him a definite...

Per Tim McManus, Maclin told reporters on Tuesday that his groin was hurt when cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha jumped on him to celebrate the winning touchdown he caught on...

Jason Avant Stands Out vs. Buccaneers

Eagles receiver Jason Avant had a season-high 133 yards on seven receptions Sunday against the Buccaneers.Fantasy Spin:Avant was targeted 12 times, also a season-high. He's been thrown to 17 times over the past two weeks. While we don't recommend starting any member of Philadelphia's passing offense Thursday against the Bengals, Avant could be a solid option in Week 16...

NFL Rumors: LeSean McCoy Out When Philadelphia Eagles Play Cincinnati Bengals On Thursday Night

While some may have held out hope that LeSean McCoy would be able to return to the Philadelphia Eagles in time for Thursday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals after being cleared to practice, it is not going to happen for the star running back, as his concussion symptoms are not completely gone. McCoy has passed his baseline test that will allow him to return to the practice...

Eagles 23, Tampa Bay 21... comfort food for Birds fans as Foles and Avant shine...

Nice to report a last-second come-from-behind victory for the Eagles...losing eight in a row was starting to wear on me...not to mention the players themselves. I'm still not sure this road win was a turning point as far as the 2013 season is concerned... but it sure made 2012 a whole lot more digestible.         Jason Avant, the 7th-year WR...

Eagles 23, Buccaneers 21

TAMPA, Fla. -- The Philadelphia Eagles scored two touchdowns in the final four minutes -- the last on a 1-yard Nick Foles pass to Jeremy Maclin as time expired -- to overcome the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-21 at Raymond James Stadium. The Eagles converted a fourth-and-5 on a 22-yard pass from Foles to Jason Avant with 16 seconds remaining. On the final play, Maclin sprinted to the...
