TEAMS:
Kansas City Chiefs
A movement called “Save Our Chiefs” is sweeping the midwest…and the nation. At over 100,000 Twitter followers, the grass roots campaign to restore order with the Kansas City Chiefs is getting some attention. While Chiefs fans may be delighted at the news of Matt Cassel’s benching in favor of Brady Quinn (a sign that the team is bagging 2012 and perhaps its hat into the Matt Barkley Derby), plenty of work still needs to be done. The team’s architect, Scott Pioli, is under fire for the team’s woes and may be out at season’s end. His struggles are aptly pointed out in a .pdf file issued to fans through the group’s Facebook page. (The Fire Pioli .pdf) Pioli drank the Belichick Kool-Aid, tried to re-create it with artificial sweeteners and food coloring, and attempted to re-name it Chiefs Kool-Aid. The View From Under the Bus
Based on the last couple week of media saturation, Scott Pioli has come out in full on damage control mode. This is not a surprise other than the fact that his stated goal of not being the face of the franchise has been pretty much thrown to the wayside.
