Kansas City Chiefs running back Thomas Jones has an expiring contract in 2012.  His teammate Jamaal Charles who splits carries with him has a contract with him running through 2016.  Now the big question in Kansas City is should the Kansas City Chiefs resign Thomas Jones?  The Chiefs need a #3 running back for depth.  Jamaal Charles will be the lone wolf in the backfield in 2012 if the Chiefs decide not resign Jones.  Charles was 21 years old when he was drafted in 2008 and now he is 24.  I don’t expect Charles to have a major drop off until he is 29 years old unless the offensive line struggles in the future at run blocking. I know the Chiefs have Charles, but they will have nothing behind him and the next few draft classes are really strong at running back.  I say you part ways with Charles and get a second young back in rounds 3 or 4 that way Charles doesn’t get too many carries.  Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson had short stints in Kansas City because they got too man...
