Thursday Night Football Preview: Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Diego Chargers
Week nine is here so lets get it kicked off right here at Gridiron Experts with the Thursday night preview. We couldn’t have a more comical match up this week as one of the leagues worst, the Kansas City Chiefs, travel in their clown car to San Diego to take on the week to week Chargers. A Battle of what looked like two fantasy powerhouses up at the start of the 2012 season, but oh how the mighty have fallen. Its going to be a slug fest involving inflatable sumo suits and over sized boxing gloves in this one…SO LETS GET IT ON!!!!
Matt Cassel is going to be the starting quarterback for the Chiefs this week as Brady Quinn is out with an injury. He won’t be a great fantasy option though as he is coming off of an injury himself, and the Chargers defense is pretty good at home. The running game for KC has to be one of the most confusing things in fantasy right now. Jamaal Charles is the guy, and injury free yet lo...
BEST OF MAXIM
Chiefs rookie WR Devon Wylie (hamstring) has resumed practicing on a full-time basis.Bothered by the injury since the season opener, Wylie has yet to play an offensive snap this year. Coach Romeo Crennel will let Wylie get some practice reps under his belt before considering him on kickoff and punt returns.
Wylie looked very good in preseason, and will probably be in line for some...
Matt Cassel will start for the Kansas City Chiefs with Brady Quinn ruled out of Thursday's AFC West game at San Diego. Quinn, who is 3-11 in his career as a starter, didn't finish Sunday's game against the Raiders because of concussion-like symptoms. Cassel has been a turnover machine, and the Chiefs have 25 giveaways, an NFL-worst. Head coach Romeo Crennel said Monday...
Kansas City Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel said Monday that Brady Quinn will remain the starting quarterback as long as he is healthy. Quinn may have sustained a concussion during Sunday's 26-16 loss to the Oakland Raiders. The Chiefs also have a short week as they travel to the San Diego Chargers on Thursday. Otherwise, the 1-6 Chiefs will start either the recently-benched Matt...
According to the Associated Press, the San Diego Chargers are unlikely to fire head coach Norv Turner during the season.
Turner has once again come under criticism for the team’s up and down start to the 2012 season. The Chargers are currently 3-4, but this weekend’s loss to the Browns was fairly demoralizing.
Owner Dean Spanos isn’t know for “knee-jerk reactions,” and...
In seven words, Romeo Crennel explained why the Kansas City Chiefs are so bad this year.
Asked after Sunday’s 26-16 loss to the Oakland Raiders why stud running back Jamaal Charles only got five carries, the Chiefs head coach seemed perplexed.
“Now, that I’m not exactly sure, either,” Crennel said, per Associated Press writer Dave Skretta.
Yeah, Romeo, that’s a question...
Two divisional foes who have not won since September will clash on Thursday Night Football, when the San Diego Chargers host the Kansas City Chiefs...
Matt Cassel is getting another chance to be the Chiefs' starting
Several corporate sponsors stepped up to help save the San Diego Chargers the embarrassment of having Thursday night's NFL Network game against the Kansas City Chiefs blacked out locally.
The Chargers said the sponsors, including the local CBS affiliate, guaranteed the purchase of enough tickets to lift the local television blackout. Those tickets will be donated to local military...
As the San Diego Chargers continue to flounder, head coach Norv Turner continued to fend off speculation that his job is on the line. The Chargers, who host the 1-6 Kansas City Chiefs at home Thursday, are coming off a 7-6 loss to the Cleveland Browns. San Diego (3-4) is in the midst of a three-game losing streak and hasn't scored a touchdown in six quarters. Those losses...
With the Denver Broncos being the new team to beat in the AFC West, the Chiefs and Chargers are beginning to free fall. The Chiefs have lost four in a row, while the Chargers have lost three.
One team will break their streak this week, but it will not be in impressive fashion.
Football was probably a lot more fun for Matt Cassel back at Chatsworth High School than it’s been in...
(AP) -- Mired in a three-game losing streak, the San Diego Chargers are looking for answers while the job security of coach Norv Turner is once again being questioned.
With Kansas City stuck in a four-game slide and tied for the worst record in the NFL, Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel might also face an uncertain future if he can't get things turned around.
The AFC West foes look...
“[O]bviously we cannot play as a team. We appear to not be able to handle adversity or finish games. Individual and team confidence appears to be going south … a team going in the wrong direction fast.” — Chargers GM A. J. Smith, a week before the Chargers lost to the Browns
“When will Norv Turner be fired? No more if. Can’t be.” — Kevin Acee, San Diego Union-Times...
