At the start of the season, the NFL Network promoted its new season-long Thursday night series of games with an ad campaign featuring a strange man who appeared to be the bastard son of Ryan Fitzpatrick and Brett Keisel that used the tag line “It’s serious fun!” Those ads have since disappeared, perhaps because football fans are recognizing that the league’s Thursday set of games seriously suck. Sadly, this week’s 19-14 Bills win over the Dolphins was one of the better Thursday night games to be shoved down our collective throats, and it featured all of one offensive touchdown. The games have been largely lopsided and lacking offensive punch, with teams winning by an average score of 25.1-11.1. Granted, it does not help when teams like Kansas City and Cleveland are among those included in the sample size. For all their defensive faults, the Bills are certainly a team capable of racking up big numbers on offense, but they weren’t able to do so against Miami on Thursday. In addition ...

Ryan Fitzpatrick: A tale of two QBs

With the ups and downs that come with every NFL team’s season, there seems to be a trend in Western New York and with the Buffalo Bills. It’s been said before and will continue to be said that, as Ryan Fitzpatrick goes, so to go the Bills. If he limits the turnovers, the Bills win. If he turns the ball over too much, they lose. Seems simple enough right? While it seems like a...

Brandon Spikes not offended by Fitzpatrick's name calling

But he'll still try to light you up next time.ESPNBoston:On the play, Fitzpatrick lowers his head forward as Spikes was closing on him, so it’s possible the league might spare Spikes a fine. “I thought the same thing,” Spikes said of the play. “It kind of takes a little bit of my aggression away, but hey, I have to do business as business being done. So it is what it...

Week 11 AFC East game picks: Dolphins at Bills

Lead writer Nick St. Denis and AFC East Daily contributors Dan Begnoche and Sean Donovan pick the Miami Dolphins' AFC East bout with the Buffalo Bills.Nick's take:Flip a coin. The Bills' defense is terrible in nearly every facet, and the Dolphins' is sliding. Ryan Fitzpatrick is inconsistent and turnover-prone, and Ryan Tannehill, while mostly impressive this season...

QCS Buffalo Water Cooler: Bills Look To Squish The Fish

This week’s Water Cooler features QCS writers Mike Bundt, John Snyder, Mike Straw, Ryan Talbot and Brandon Hess. Mike Bundt: What’s up everybody! Not the best result for the Bills over the weekend but I think we can all agree that we saw some progress out of the team. With the game in Ryan Fitzpatrick’s hands, Buffalo just couldn’t finish the game off. Should Bills fans be...

Spikes was penalized on the play, which occured in the fourth quarter of the Patriots' 37-31 victory. Spikes' hit knocked Fitzpatrick's helmet off. Steelers Versus Chiefs Game Rewind – First Half Notes

The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Kansas City Chiefs 16-13 Monday night at Heinz Field and below are my first half notes from the game with the second half notes to follow soon. Kicker Shaun Suisham made the tackle on the opening kickoff. That's not exactly the way you want a game to start. Ziggy Hood and Larry Foote are easily handled on the first run of the night as running...

Gailey stays focused on Bills' finale

Buffalo Bills coach Chan Gailey has put off questions about his job security, and that of starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, for another week. He's focused on preparing the Bills (5-10) for their season finale against the New York Jets (6-9) on Sunday rather than the uncertain offseason that lies ahead. Gailey, on Monday, deflected questions about whether he's made...
