Northwest Sports – More QB Issues For The Seahawks, Plus An MLS Round-Up
While the NBA is gearing up for the postseason, the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks are in the thick of their offseason and they could be in the market to add another quarterback to their roster via the draft. In other news, two of the three Northwest teams will be in action this weekend in Major League Soccer action.
Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks signed free agent Matt Flynn, and the idea was that he was going to compete with Tarvaris Jackson, although many sportsbook reviews expect Flynn to come away with the job. However, there could be more competition under center as rumors have emerged that the Seahawks are very interested in drafting Texas A&M’s Ryan Tannehill, who is thought to be the third-best quarterback in the draft after Stanford’s Andrew Luck and Baylor’s Heisman-winning pivot Robert Griffin III, who are touted to go first and second in New York City at the end of the month. The Seahawks pick 12th in the draft, but Tannehill probably won’t last that long and they may not have the assets to trade in order to move up. In other news, the Seahawks re-signed Leroy Hill despite a third arrest in four years for the linebacker, who had a solid 2011 campaign. Seattle signed him for only a year, so players that use price per headservices should know that Hill will be on a short leash.
Major League Soccer Round-Up
Portland has now dropped four in a row after a 3-1 loss in Los Angeles and online betting sharps should consider taking them out of the running to win the Western Conference; now it’ll be a struggle just to make it to the playoffs. It doesn’t get any easier as the Timbers will host Kansas City, who is the first MLS team to win their first six games of the season since 1998.
Vancouver is four points and two spots ahead of last-place Portland in sixth place, it didn't mean anything in a 3-1 loss to Kansas City on Wednesday night in Vancouver. FC Dallas comes to town on Saturday. The Whitecaps have two draws and a loss since starting the season with two straight wins, and now they have three of their next four games at home, and that could get their campaign back on track.
Finally, Seattle is in third place in the West, five points behind Real Salt Lake, and the Sounders have the week off to recharge their batteries before they head to Chicago to wrap up the month. Seattle has allowed two goals in their first five games, and only Kansas City has allowed fewer (one); that will be the key to their odds at sports betting sites this season.

He's been a national champion in college at LSU...
