by Jimmy HascupFiled under: UFLLas Vegas Locos quarterback Tim Rattay suffered a ruptured right Achilles tendon in Friday's victory against the Sacramento Mountain Lions and will be placed on the injured list, according to a UFL press release.
Rattay sustained the injury in the fourth quarter on the Loco's last play of their 26-3 throttling of the Mountain Lions Friday when he apparently stepped awkwardly.
At the time, Las Vegas head coach Jim Fassel said that, "Nobody hit him, nothing. Nobody touched him, he just stepped wrong and popped it."
Rattay was 18 of 27 for 158 yards against Sacramento, and had been a reliable signal caller for the Locos this season after being a journeyman in the NFL -- playing with the San Francisco 49ers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Arizona Cardinals for parts of eight seasons.
