Two things are readily apparent after Tim Tebow‘s three years in the NFL. First, he is not ever going to be a good traditional quarterback. Second, he does not want to — or cannot — be used primarily as an option player, such as in wildcat sets. But what is still undetermined is whether Tebow can be a good, run-oriented quarterback if given the right offense. Former Florida coach Urban Meyer, who led Tebow to Heisman and national championship glory in college, says he thinks Tebow still has plenty of room to succeed in the NFL — and it doesn’t require a one-of-a-kind situation. Meyer says several other NFL teams are already using systems that could make the most of Tebow’s unique skills, and that Tebow’s success depends on the next team he plays for taking advantage of such an approach. “We watched [Robert Griffin III] at the Washington Redskins, [Russell] Wilson at the Seahawks, the new quarterback [Colin Kaepernick] at the 49ers, and Carolina [with Cam Newton], and they are actual...

Sporting goods store mocks Tebow?

Tim Tebow's NFL season is over, and he's still taking jabs. In a photo posted on Twitter by New York native Scott Hochenburg, Tebow takes a seat on the bench in a display at a Dick's Sporting Goods store at Palisades Mall in West Nyack, N.Y. The Tebow mannequin, No. 15, is seen sitting on the bench next to Mark Sanchez (No. 6) in a display of New York Jets and New York...

Tebow relegated to bench in NYC sporting goods store display

Tebowmania was at a peak when the Jets brought Wildcat quarterback Tim Tebow over from the Denver Broncos last winter. The darling of the NFL went from riding a wave of popularity to riding the pine. Now one New York City sporting goods store has used Tebow's status on the bench to help promoting New York Jets merchandise. According to Darren Rovell's Twitter account, a...

5 things Dicks Sporting Goods can do with Tim Tebow

Dick's Sporting Goods is on to something. The Dicks's store in West Nyack, NY, creatively displayed the dummy bearing Tebow's jersey as benched in a display that set every other Jets and Giants player in a manly stance. You might say the display diss'd Tebow, but I think it mocked the Jets for their wasteful trade for a first-round Draft pick player...

Video: Tim Tebow and Tom Rinaldi share a moment

Florida could have actually used Tim Tebow last night in the Sugar Bowl as they got smashed by Louisville.  It's hard to remember, but Tebow was once one of the great college football players in history with a Heisman Trophy and two national championships before he became a human debate pinata.  He was there in New Orleans to watch the Gators defeat in person, and wouldn'...

Sporting goods store jabs Tebow, Jets?

Found in what is assumed to be a Dick’s Sporting Goods store in the New York/New Jersey area is this display of mannequins dressed as several prominent players from the New York Jets. Most of the team’s stars are represented in the display, including Nick Mangold, Santonio Holmes, Bart Scott, Mark “Buttfumble” Sanchez, and Tim Tebow, who is appropriately the only one found...

@HochentweetIt looks like to me that Dick’s Sporting Goods was having some fun while lining up a bunch of manikins dressed up in New York Jets gear. Some Dick’s employees positioned a manikin dressed as Tim Tebow so that he’s sitting on the bench while the rest of his “teammates” are standing up.Dick’s Sporting Goods display puts Tebow on bench twitter.com/Hochentweet...

Punter outpassed Tebow in 2012

If one factoid perfectly sums up the Tim Tebow Era in NYC, it is most certainly this one.

Dick’s Sporting Goods in New York City takes a shot at Tim Tebow

On the football field and at Dick’s Sporting Goods in New York City, Tim Tebow rides the bench. As if Tim Tebow hasn’t taken enough criticism during the last few weeks of the season for reportedly wanting out of the wildcat and “quitting” on the Jets, a New York City Dick’s Sporting Goods store took the trashing of Tebow to a whole new level. The photo (above) of Tebow’s...

Speaking like loon, Urban Meyer claims Tim Tebow can excel in a spread offense like Robert Griffin III, Russell Wilson, Colin Kaepernick and Cam Newton have

Tim Tebow’s Future, Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather Jr. Fight Among Sports Stories to Watch for in 2013 (Photos)

For sports fans tired of hearing the endless speculation about Tim Tebow’s future and Dwight Howard’s next team, be forewarned: 2013 could be just as bad. Many of 2012’s major storylines will be laid to rest this week, with champions crowned and players settled into their new teams. But for some, like Tebow and Howard, 2012 only cracked the lid on what’s expected to be a...

Photo: Rex Ryan has tattoo with likeness of wife, Mark Sanchez, and Tim Tebow

Check out the ink that New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan apparently sports on his right bicep.I'm no expert, but it appears to be a tattoo of his wife wearing nothing but a No. 6 New York Jets jersey -- the same as much-maligned quarterback Mark Sanchez. Oh, and did I mention that the tattoo's likeness also resembles Jets quarterback Tim Tebow's signature "Tebowing...

Mark Sanchez Admits He ‘Underachieved’ in 2012, But Still Feels Jets Are ‘Destined for Great Stuff’

Remember when Tim Tebow‘s presence was supposed to light a fire under Mark Sanchez and thus make him a better quarterback? Me neither. In a season in which everything went wrong for the Jets, Sanchez was particularly brutal, tossing 18 interceptions and just 13 touchdown passes while completing only 54.3 percent of his passes. In other words, not only did the fourth-year quarterback...
