According to a recent article on SI.com, the Denver Broncos have no chance at signing free agent quarterback Peyton Manning. And there’s only one man to blame: Tim Tebow.

Said the article:

Denver has emerged as a dark-horse choice to land Manning, but this does not feel like the type of situation the long-time Colts quarterback would want to end his career in. Manning has not tipped his hand much, but two factors are believed to be driving his thoughts: 1. He wants to play for a contender; 2. He’d like to find a home that’s as drama-free as possible.

With Tebow the Broncos were somehow transformed into a team that was good enough to knock the Pittsburgh Steelers from the playoffs. With Manning, it’s safe to say the team would be even better.

However, with Tebow, who would either have to be benched or traded for the Broncos to sign Manning, drama is all to present in Denver. Would Tebow sit behind Manning for a few years? If so, what if Manning, still recovering from his neck injury, were to lead the Broncos to a poor start?

The answer: quarterback controversy. If Peyton has any sense he’ll stay far away from Denver.
