According to the New York Daily News, Tim Tebow will request to be traded or released after being passed over by Greg McElroy on the depth chart. NFL Network had previously reported Tebow “could” request a trade or his release. A source tells reporter Manish Mehta Tebow’s desire to leave “came to a head” when McElroy was announced as Mark Sanchez’s replacement on Tuesday. Tebow’s reported feelings are understandable, but it’s doubtful he’ll draw serious interest as a starter. According to Mehta, the Jets can release Tebow with a “minimal” cap hit if they decide to grant him his walking papers outright instead of trading him. He’s currently scheduled to earn $2.6 million in 2013. My biggest problem with this situation is what was Tebow’s agent thinking when he had the choice?  He could have been at home in Jacksonville and led the Jags to a winning season.  This is one of the biggest mistakes I have seen as an agent in the NFL so far.  I hope he thinks a little better on his next c

So Tim Tebow wants to leave the Jets now, I say Let Him Go

Written By Clifford, Santa Monica,   In the 47 years that I’ve been watching professional sports I’ve never seen more fuss made over an athlete who was less talented than Timothy Richard Tebow. To me, he’s the NFL’s answer to former NBA stiff Jon Koncak–a reserve center chosen by the Atlanta Hawks with the fifth pick in the 1985 draft. As I recall, Koncak was rewarded...

Report: Tebow feels misled by the Jets

According to Mike Freeman of CBS Sports, quarterback Tim Tebow feels misled by the New York Jets, since when he was acquired in the offseason he was told that he would have a shot to start if Mark Sanchez was either  benched or went down with an injury. The reason Tebow hasn’t gotten a chance to start is because he’s been so bad in practice and the Jets clearly realize now that...

Tim Tebow Reportedly Will Ask the Jets for A Trade

With Robert Griffin III stealing all of Tim Tebow’s ESPN attention, the New York Jets quarterback has found a way to land himself back in the headlines. Tebow, who has only started for the Jets once this season, will reportedly request a trade or to be released if he doesn’t get the chance to start over Greg McElroy in the final two games of the season. Since his tenure with...

Tebow Time over in New York? (Psst...it never started)

So word on the street - and by street, I mean everywhere - is that Tim Tebow won't be returning to the New York Jets next season.First of all, why is this news? Why would the Jets want him back? They never used him. (Case in point, when they decided to bench Mark Sanchez in this upcoming Sunday's game, they leap-frogged over Tebow to third string QB Greg McElroy to start)...

5 New York Jets quarterback rumors

There has been a lot of speculation regarding the future of quarterbacks Tim Tebow, Michael Vick, Alex Smith and Mark Sanchez. Two of which are currently on the New York Jets’ roster, one of those two most likely won’t be there in 2013 and the other two have been discussed as possible fits. No matter how you look at it, it doesn’t look like much will change moving forward...

Report: Tim Tebow Will Ask for Trade, Release If Greg McElroy Starts Last Two Games

Tim Tebow is careful to always say the right thing publicly, but privately, it seems he’s not happy with the New York Jets’ decision to sit him all year. Tebow will ask to be traded or released if Greg McElroy starts the last two games of the season, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. Tebow has received just 76 offensive snaps all season after bringing the...

Rex makes necessary switch to McElroy, not Tebow

Greg McElroy is the starting quarterback for the New York Jets -- for now. Less than a day after Mark Sanchez threw four interceptions and mishandled a critical snap at the end of the Jets' demoralizing 14-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans, Jets coach Rex Ryan handed over signal-calling duties to McElroy. Tim Tebow had been the No. 2 quarterback on the depth chart pretty much the...
