Found May 30, 2012 on Philly Sports Muse:
After participating in the first day of the second set of OTAs of the 2012 offseason, members of the Philadelphia Eagles were off to have a little fun on Wednesday afternoon. They took part, along with every other member of the organization, in the 16th annual playground build of the Eagles Youth Partnership. This year’s build took place at Comegys Elementary School in Southwest Philadelphia. The event is designed to transform rundown outdoor areas of schools to the clean, safe and beautiful playground every child deserves. The Eagles are unique among NFL teams as they require players to take part in the community. But it’s not something the players feel forced to do. They genuinely enjoy the opportunity to interact with and help some of their young fans. There was a string of excited tweets from players once they arrived at the playground Wednesday afternoon. That of LT Demetress Bell is hands-down my favorite. Mechie? As you can see from the pictures below, the kids weren’t the o...

How long will QB Trent Edwards remain on the Philadelphia Eagles’ roster?

Trent Edwards The Philadelphia Eagles signed former Buffalo Bills quarterback Trent Edwards this offseason, despite the fact that he did not play in the NFL at all in 2011. So it’s not surprising that there was a little bit of rust for Edwards last week at the Eagles first set of OTAs this offseason. But it seemed that there was more than just a little. Edwards’ performance was...

Jason Babin’s wild, whacky offseason adventures: Next up, running with the bulls

Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Jason Babin was a no-show to the team’s OTAs last week. He had planned to be with his teammates, but things don’t always go according to plan when you are in the midst of a grand adventure. Babin was in Alaska on a trip to hunt black bears. What was already sure to be a memorable experience became even more so when Babin got trapped in a storm...

And while the NFL regular season is more than two months away, it’s your job as a fantasy football general manager to be perpetually scouting. Since a decent amount of planning is attached to each fantasy selection, let me break down why you should...

Encouraged Eagles add depth to defensive line

The Eagles led the NFL with 50 sacks last year. Then they spent the offseason trying to make their defensive line even better. Take last year's NFL-best group and add rookie Fletcher Cox, a first-round tackle from Mississippi State, second-round pick Vinny Curry, a tackle from Marshall, and then add yet another tackle, Antonio Dixon, who missed all of last year with an injury...

Stop calling it the Eagles "Wide 9"...

Yes, there was a morning OTA practice on Wednesday, but it was pretty much closed to media, so we didn't get our Twitter relays from Kenny and Boner. Livefyre "radio" lines were acting a little goofy, too, and Twitter is basically on the same network servers, so who knows, maybe Geoff Mosher and Les Bowen were trying to get through to us but couldn't...?Personnel...

Eagles clear Mudd to miss OTAs, will return for minicamp

Eagles coach Andy Reid has continually harped on the benefit for his young team of having a full offseason of field and classroom work this spring compared to last year when a 4 1/2-month lockout prevented rookies from even getting a peek at their playbook until the start of training camp. Yet, one of their most important teachers -- offensive line coach Howard Mudd -- was nowhere...
