Poor Tom Brady. The guy is so good but I’m starting to think a downgrade in his ranking is just around the corner. Captain Brady is still no doubt one of the best quarterbacks in the game but it’s his supporting cast that has been making headlines during the offseason. You, by now, know all about their star tight end Rob Gronkowski who has been hampered by multiple injuries that have left his availability for the beginning of the year in question. His latest back surgery could send him to the PUP (physically unable to perform) list. That’s one strike against Brady. His favorite target from the past six seasons, Wes Welker, has a new team out in Denver. Strike two. And the latest from the Patriots is that Aaron Hernandez is being investigated for a possible connection to a homicide that occurred less than a mile from his home. A rental car that was located close to the crime scene had been rented in Hernandez’s name. The victim, Odin Lloyd, was the boyfriend of Aaron’s girlfriends sister. And the absolute latest info comes from FOX 25 out of Boston, that a local authority said, “Hernandez appears to be directly tied to the homicide.” Strike three. The more and more that comes out about the investigation into Hernandez and this homicide, the clearer it gets that somehow he was involved. Even if he wasn’t the actual person to do the deed, he knew or had knowledge of the situation. It’s not uncommon for players to have legal troubles but this case could go into O.J. Simpson territory. Or maybe I’m jumping the gun a little. It could just be that I watch way too much Law & Order. Or maybe I’m not. This just in from ABC News, information that Aaron destroyed his home security system… not sure why… oh you say that the security system contained video surveillance footage… this is really not looking good. To finish with a discussion about the Captain. What if Brady’s new #1, Danny Amendola, goes down with a predictable injury? He could be left with Jake Ballard, Michael Jenkins and Aaron Dobson as his go-to targets. While I’m sure that Brady would still produce at a high level it couldn’t possibly match what we’re used to. Ballard would immediately be start-able in all formats but he’s not Gronk or Hernandez. And with the QB position so deep this year, is it worth taking Brady if his team is a bunch of question marks? I’ve always had Tom as a top-tier QB, but maybe just maybe this year he NEEDS to be on the second tier. Or maybe I’m jumping the gun… You let me know.   The post Time To Downgrade Patriots QB Tom Brady? appeared first on FFLockerRoom | Fantasy Sports Advice | Sports News | Sports Talk |.
