Found September 28, 2012 on The Penalty Flag:

On Sunday the Tennessee Titans and the Lions gave us an exciting game. The Titans made big plays on offense, defense, and special teams. They did this throughout the whole game. They also gave up many big plays. It was nice to see that this team didn’t give up when the Lions kept roaring back. A game that should be an instant classic on the NFL Network, also showed continued failure by the Titans. I believe these failures to be ironic considering who the opposition was. The Lions have made great strides over the last few years going from the bottom of the NFL to a playoff team last season. With that said, they are another team that has had problems running the ball.… Read more

Is it time for the Titans to trade Chris Johnson?

It’s 2012 and the Tennessee Titans need to finally trade Chris Johnson or better known in 2012 as CJ2 yards per carry to another team soon. It’s not based on the fact he has only rushed for 45 yards on 33 carries for a grand total of 1.4 yards per carry or his drop in production from the year he rushed for 2,006 yards in 2009. It’s based on what the future of this Tennessee...

Days of CJ2K as an elite RB may be history

Nashville, TN. 19 rushing attempts for 21 yards. That is an ugly stat for any running back after just two weeks into any given NFL season. But those are the exact statistics for Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson, who is having a rough go of it to say the least to begin 2012. It has been just over one year since Johnson ended his holdout during the summer of 2011. On...

Kenny Britt held out of practice

According to Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean, Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt didn’t practice on Thursday and tight end Jared Cook was limited. With Britt now back on the field, the Titans’ passing attack is even more potent.   He had six receptions for 55 yards in last week’s win over the Lions.

Titans LB McCarthy to miss 3rd straight game

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Titans middle linebacker Colin McCarthy will miss a third straight game with his sprained right ankle, and receiver Kenny Britt has missed his third straight practice with his own injured left ankle. Britt says Friday he is not ruling himself out against Houston (3-0) on Sunday because his ankle is feeling better than Thursday, and he has two more days left...

NFL Rumors: With Defenses No Longer Respecting Chris Johnson, Should Tennessee Titans Bench Him?

The Tennessee Titans are in a difficult position. They paid running back Chris Johnson quite handsomely prior to last season. After a lengthy holdout, Johnson struggled mightily to resemble the player who ran for over 2,000 yards in the 2009 season. While many were hoping that was a result of his time missed, the Titans are looking for reasons why Johnson is averaging just 1.4 yards...

Is Chris Johnson The First Player Fantasy Football Destroyed?

If you owned the Titans' Chris Johnson in fantasy for the 2009 season, you probably won your league.  It was an "LT-esque" year for the then second year back, single handily defeating opponents each game.   Just look at his stat line: 2,006 YDS, 5.6 YPC, 14 TD // 50 REC, 503 ReYDS, 2 ReTDJohnson was most likely the number one player selected in drafts of 2010, and...

Tennessee Titans at Houston Texans: Week 4 NFL Pick

Tennessee Titans (1-2) at Houston Texans (3-0) In my power rankings this week, I poked holes in pretty much every other team in the league. I can’t do that with the Texans. They are without a flaw. Winning in Denver in the high altitude against a talented team and a no huddle offense is damn impressive and 3 games into the season, this is the Super Bowl favorite and the most complete...

Titans Sunday Primer: 3 Things to Watch

The much-loved Tennessee Titans are coming to visit this Sunday to Reliant, as they stand in the way of the Houston Texans pushing their season record to 4-0. The majority of the NFL knows what the outcome “should” be after the final 4th quarter whistle, but the Texans hold a 3-7 all-time record at home against the Titans. The Texans are deemed healthy heading into Sunday’s...

Titans excel, as usual, at protecting QB Locker

The Tennessee Titans have been criticized for being the NFL's worst at running the ball. Jake Locker is pretty happy about the one thing they're doing better than almost any team in the league. Protecting him. The Titans (1-2) have done a pretty good job keeping Locker upright, allowing only two sacks and none in two straight games. He was only hit twice last week by the...

Week 4 Fantasy Football Preview: Titans at Texans

Last week the Titans were involved in an absolute shootout with the Detroit Lions and came away with a big win for them as a team. The Texans are coming back home with a 3-0 record for the first time in franchise history. Tennessee Titans (1-2): Jake Locker is playing a bit better than expected and is starting to make those decisions that head coach Mike Munchak is "happy to...

RotoWire NFL Five Things to Know

1. Leshoure is Already an RB2 With Jahvid Best (concussion) out, Mikel Leshoure's ascent to a starting role in Detroit faced only one true obstacle: his own health. In his regular-season debut against Tennessee on Sunday, roughly 14 months removed from an Achilles' tendon tear, Leshoure didn't show much rust, immediately making incumbent starter Kevin Smith an afterthought...
