The Tennessee Titans had an interesting change on their Thursday injury report as they continue to prepare for their Sunday season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field.
Tackle David Stewart (calf), who practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, did not practice Thursday. According to Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean, Stewart is improving even though he did not practice and head coach Mike Munchak reportedly still expects him to play against the Steelers.
Linebacker Zaviar Gooden (ankle) and fullback Quinn Johnson (quadricep) also did not work on Thursday. Gooden has already been ruled out for the opener.
Linebacker Akeem Ayers (ankle) was limited for a second straight day, but Wyatt says he's expected to be ready by Sunday.

The Steelers and Titans face off at Heinz Field this Sunday afternoon. These teams met last season, and the Titans came out victorious that night. Like last year, the Steelers are undoubtedly the more talented of the two teams. Of course, that didn’t mean much last year, so this could be a toughly contested match-up.

Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose. In the course of sitting down and thinking about what I wanted to say in this season preview post, one of the things I did was look back at what I wrote at this time year. Sometimes, this is a bit of a shaming experience. As I chronicled in last year's post, my thoughts about the Titans at the eve of the season have not been prophetic...
Tennessee Titans (0-0) at Pittsburgh Steelers (0-0)
A lot of people are really down on the Steelers right now, but I like their chances to have a bounce back year, as teams normally do after a significant win decrease. Teams that decrease by 4 wins, on average, have a win increase of about 2 the following season. Sure, they’re getting older and they lost guys like James Harrison...
