Titans RB Chris Johnson Racks Up 114 Yards vs Steelers - Chris Johnson rushed for 91 yards on 19 carries and caught four passes for 23 yards in Thursday night’s Week 6, 26-23 victory over the Steelers. It’s Johnson’s second 100-plus yard effort of the season, and they’ve come against two of the league’s better run defenses in Houston and Pittsburgh. He had opportunities to bust out for even bigger gains on Thursday night, but, hey, it’s progress. Johnson was given one goal-line carry in the second quarter but couldn’t capitalize before Jamie Harper came in and punched it in for the score from one yard out. Week 7 offers an opportunity to build on the performance with Tennessee traveling to Buffalo to take on the league’s third-worst run defense. Read More Here!

Kenny Britt's funny interview after game

“Aw man.”“Aw man.”We’ve seen funny press conferences and interviews before (the best being Ellis Lankster), but we’ve never seen one like this. In a short 90-second interview after last night’s Titans-Steelers game, Kenny Britt successfully started off every reply with the phrase. We can’t tell if this was the result of a locker room bet/dare or if Britt was just so...

Is Kenny Britt Ready to rock?

Kenny Britt’s box score looked good. Four catches for 62 yards and a touchdown. While fantasy owners have to be pleased with that performance, there could have been more.. Britt was targeted eleven times and had some drops that would have led to an even better game on Thursday night. He also struggled in his route running. While he left yardage and fantasy points on the field,...

Week 6 Picks: Thursday Night Edition

Can Chris Johnson still be called CJ2K?  Pittsburgh Steelers (2-2) @ Tennessee Titans (1-4) In 2009, Chris Johnson ran for 2,006 yards, earning his current nickname CJ2K.  Every year since then, Johnson's yards per game has fallen from 125.4 in '09, to 85.3 in '10, to 65.4 last season, and so far this season has been his worst, averaging a measly 42 yards per game...

Jamie Harper scores early TD for Titans to their long term detriment

Chris Johnson has done very little to help himself, his image, or his team since his holdout to begin the 2011 season and he certainly hasn’t contributed much on the field this year, coming into tonight’s game boasting a 2.9 YPC average. He was quoted this week as saying that the Tennessee Titans needed a … Continue reading »

Blocked punt helps Titans take early 13-10 lead

Tim Shaw blocked a punt to set up Jamie Harper's 1-yard run that gave the Tennessee Titans a 13-10 lead over the Pittsburgh Steelers early in the second quarter Thursday night. The Titans had been one of only two NFL teams without a rushing touchdown - the St. Louis Rams were the other - before Harper's burst on the opening play of the second quarter. Shaw set up the touchdown...

Bironas' FG gives Titans win over Steelers

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Entering Thursday night's game with Pittsburgh, the Tennessee Titans were a team in disarray, teed up for a blow that could have shattered them into some kind of organizational shake-up. At least, that's what many of the wary hometown fans might have feared as boisterous Steelers fans in large numbers waved their terrible towels at LP Field prior to kickoff...

Steelers fan invades field during game, corralled by pink-clad security (photo)

(Photo: George Walker IV, The Tennessean) The Pittsburgh Steelers — or perhaps more accurately, the team’s fans — probably figured heading into Thursday night’s match-up with the Tennessee Titans that the somewhat underperforming squad (although the team has been devastated by injuries) would begin to turn around the season courtesy of what they reasonably envisioned [...]

Kenny Britt Collects First TD Of Season

Tennessee receiver Kenny Britt grabbed his first touchdown reception of the season Thursday against the Steelers, a game-tying 5-yarder in the fourth quarter.Fantasy Spin:Britt has dealt with an ankle injury recently but the receiver was able to turn in his most productive fantasy game of the season Thursday. Britt led the team in targets with 11, and Nate Washington was second with...

Titans edge Steelers 26-23 on Bironas' 40-yard FG

Coach Mike Munchak likes his football history, and he told his Tennessee Titans how the 1993 Houston Oilers started 1-4 before winning 11 straight to reach the playoffs. One win down. And that's enough for Tennessee right now. Rob Bironas kicked a 40-yard field goal, his fourth of the game, as time expired, and the Titans edged the Pittsburgh Steelers 26-23 on Thursday night...

Steelers Defensive Coverage Stats Versus Titans – Week 6

Below are the coverage stats for the Pittsburgh Steelers following their Thursday night loss to the Tennessee Titans. While the completion percentage was a manageable at 57%, the defense did not do a good job tackling after the catch as the Titans had 106 in YAC with 20 coming on the final completion to tight end Jared Cook with Steelers linebacker James Harrison in coverage. Not...
