Many of his teammates are headed out of town on vacation, but Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt plans to work out in Nashville with trainers. “It is the same thing as the offseason,” Britt said as the team wrapped up its minicamp. “Everybody left and I was here. … My goal is to get my knee right to help the team out.” Britt continues to work his way back from the torn ACL and MCL he suffered in Week 3 last season. He has increased his workload recently since a scope on the knee last month. The Titans want Britt to remain at Baptist Sports Park instead of rehabbing elsewhere. He has no problem with the plan. “I want to get my work in and make sure my knee is right and make sure I am doing the right thing to get my knee right,” he said. “Do I think I am going to be ready (for the season opener)? I am confident I’ll be ready. We just don’t know what God has in store for me that day. But I am pushing for it and my goal is to be there in camp with the guys.”

Center Eugene Amano and Leroy Harris, both coming off a pair of surgeries, are back on the field trying to reclaim their starting jobs. At the same time, the Titans are trying to strengthen a unit that uncharacteristically...

Youth being served in Titans' linebacking corps

Look around the Tennessee roster, and the Titans' youth movement is most noticeable at linebacker. Sure, Will Witherspoon is a 10-year NFL veteran heading into his third season with Tennessee. But he's the rare veteran in a meeting room where Akeem Ayers and Colin McCarthy are back as starters after strong rookie seasons. The Titans also used their second-round draft pick...

Hasselbeck Still Expected to be Tennessee Titans Starter in 2012

Good news for the rest of the AFC South; according to the local newspaper in Tennessee, Matt Hasselbeck is expected to QB1 when the Titans break camp this fall. Before I get into the specifics, the reason I say it is good news for the rest of the AFC South is because I believe they have enough talent on the roster to challenge Houston for the division in 2012. But I also believe...

Kendall Wright to the Titans: Fantasy Analysis

The Tennessee Titans landed a young man who was arguably the NFL Draft’s top talent at the wide receiver position. Wright has superstar potential and only a lack of ideal height truly kept him from being in the mix to be the first receiver off the board in round one. Wright has a ton of talent, can make highlight reel catches, is a savvy route runner who can star in the slot and...

Matt Hasselbeck expected to win Titans’ quarterback battle

Getty Images With Matt Hasselbeck and Jake Locker battling for the Tennessee Titans starting quarterback job, all preseason reports have indicated that the competition has been very close so far.  At least until now. David Climer of the Tennessean suspects that Hasselbeck has a nice lead over Locker at this point for the starting job. “I suspect Hasselbeck is solidly ahead of...

Titans fullback Collin Mooney is scheduled to see doctors on Monday, and that’s when a decision will be made on whether he’ll need surgery for his broken left hand. Mooney, who played at Army, said he’s been told he might need a plate inserted into the hand. He practiced during the team’s minicamp with a cast on the hand after suffering the injury on June 15. “The doctors told...

It's time for the third installment in this little series on how the Titans fared in the red zone in 2011. I covered the run game and the running backs in part one and covered the quarterbacks in part two. It's now time to continue my look at the passing game with an analysis of how the Titans' wide receivers fared. As I noted in the first two parts of this series, the...
