We like our athletes big, bold and fearless.
We tend to not allow much room for vulnerability.
They are however, quite human and as such they to fall prey to the same statistics that provide a snapshot into the sample size of American life.
Mental health awareness is gaining more exposure as the taboos and stereotypes that are associated with these various disorders are either shattered or overcome.
Recently the plight of former Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young has forced even the hardest heart to pray for the young man’s welfare.
The behavior associated with his multiple arrests are not simple cries for help.
They are an illogical pattern of behavior that may date back to incidents that occurred during his freshman days at California’s University High School.
