Found November 07, 2013 on Universal Takeover Sports Network:
Last season the Washington Redskins(3-5) and Minnesota Vikings(1-7) made the playoffs in the NFC. This season they have combined to win a quarter of their games that they have played. Washington has been hindered by quarterback Robert Griffin III’s off season knee surgery which prohibited him from practicing in the preseason. Combine Griffin’s recovery with a very leaky defense and the ‘Skins troubles are easy to identify. Another puzzling fact about this season’s Redskins is that they haven’t fed running back Alfred Morris the ball. Morris was a sixth round pick of the Redskins in the 2012 NFl Draft. All he did last season was earn second team All-Pro honors along with breaking the Redskins single season rushing record with 1,613 yards. Seems like with a quarterback working to get his form back it would be a good idea to give Morris the ball. Strangley enough last week was the first game of the year in which Morris got more than 20 carries. Even more puzzling is how does a team with Adrian Peterson go 1-7 in their first eight games. The Vikings still haven’t won a game on American soil this season. They beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in London, England during week four, 34-27. Finally, the Vikings have turned back to Christian Ponder as their starting quarterback. Ponder was their first round draft pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. In just his second season he helped led the Vikings to the playoffs. That seemingly wasn’t good enough for the Vikings fans and strangely enough their coaching staff and front office. Ponder gives this team the best chance to win not Matt Cassel or free agent Josh Freeman. The Vikings gave Freeman $3 million to come in and be their third string quarterback after he was cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier and general manager Rick Spielman(Chris’ brother) are in the midst of squandering one of the greatest football talents of this or any time in Peterson. Their ineptitude rivals that of the Detroit Lions when they had running back Barry Sanders and Wayne Fontes as their head coach. Back to tonight’s game, these two defenses are ranked 30th and 31st in points allowed per game both giving up over 31 points per game. Only the Jacksonville Jaguars are keeping these two from being the worst in the league. I know this seemed like a good match up to the schedule makers.  With two amazing college football games tonight outside of their respective fan bases viewers might be hard to come by. The game will be on the NFLN at 8pm ET and you can follow me on twitter @mullysalt       The post TNF Preview: Battle Of Disappointments appeared first on UTSN.

WATCH: Redskins fail miserably on fake punt attempt

The Washington Redskins tried to spice things up with a 27-21 lead over the Minnesota Vikings late in the third quarter with a head-scratching decision to try a trick play in the form of a fake punt inside of their own 35-yard-line. As you can see in the GIF below, the play wasn’t executed very well.     Punter Sav Rocca showed off his lack of passing ability by missing his...

Are the Redskins about to make another run?

“I'm sticking with my preseason pick. The Washington Redskins are about to go on the same roll they went on a year ago.” Skip Bayless is went on to cite the similarities, and while he is correct, this season just feels a little bit different. When they didn't turn the ball over, Washington's offense in 2012 was a well-oiled machine based on the running of Robert...

The Washington Redskins defense is a let down to RGIII as the team falls to 3-6.

The Washington Redskins fall to 3-6 on the season with a loss to the Minnesota Viking who had one win coming into last nights game. The Redskins defense failed to stop the Vikings from scoring 34 points in the game. The Skins defensive performance has sucked this season. Washington can see their quarterback Robert Griffin III, out on the field busting his butt and doing every thing...

Alfred Morris, not RG3, is the fuel to the Redskins engine

An engine, a well oiled machine. It is what keeps our cars on the road and going from point to point. If given the right kind of fuel it can run forever. If given the wrong fuel, it is in the shop and needing to be fixed again and again. An NFL offense is much like an engine. If fueled properly it can get from point A to point B with grace and beauty... Read more

RG3 says it's not about him having to be a hero: 'I think it takes everybody'

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III is coming off his best performance of the season, and he'll try to carry that into Thursday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. If there was one fault in Griffin's rookie season was that he tried to hard, took too many hits, played on a injured knee and blew it out in the process in the 2012 playoffs. Griffin said that the San...

Redskins get signals crossed on fake punt

The special teams misadventures for the Washington Redskins continued during Thursday night’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings when punter Sav Rocca threw an incomplete pass on a fake punt on which the intended receiver, Niles Paul, wasn’t expecting a pass to be thrown. Redskins Botch Fake Punt Miserably During Thursday Night Loss to Vikings (GIF)

When trying to successfully pull off a trick play in football, communication is key. Every player on the field needs to be on the same page. But when the Redskins tried to catch the Vikings napping with a fake punt Thursday night, Sav Rocca and Niles Paul were not on the same page. They weren’t even in the same book. During the third quarter of Washington’s eventual loss in Minnesota...

Washington Redskins and the Worst Fake Punt Ever

What is really sad about this fake punt attempt is that it should have worked. Than again, Washington committed a penalty on the play and it would have been called back anyway. Looks like you have some work to do Coach. @cjzero/Twitter Loading...

Adrian Peterson, Robert Griffin III Look to Lift Middling Teams With Their Star Power in Thursday Night Showdown

A Week 10 matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and Washington Redskins this Thursday will serve as cold, hard proof that it takes more than a lone superstar to make an NFL contender.
