The New England Patriots held a joint practice with the New Orleans Saints today with the Saints in town for Thursday’s preseason opener.
Tom Brady was very un-Bradylike as the offense struggled playing against another team for the first time this season. Brady threw two interceptions as the usually potent offense failed to click on all cylinders.
“They came out a little rusty, but this is practice, and that’s why you practice,” Saints linebacker Curtis Lofton said. “When it’s a game, you know Tom Brady is going to be Tom Brady.”
The two teams practiced in front of a record 14,830 in attendance, and rocker Jon Bon Jovi enjoyed the show after meeting with the team owners.
The practice showed off arguably the three best tight ends in the game, as the Saints’ Jimmy Graham dazzled against the Patriots defense while Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez showcased their talents for the hometown team.
