Tom Coughlin Says WR Nicks Knee Not Improving -

Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said Monday that Hakeem Nicks’ troublesome knee has not improved since last Thursday’s practice. Nicks experienced an apparent setback with the knee after the practice, as he was downgraded from questionable to doubtful and ultimately ruled out for Week 4 against the Eagles after the knee swelled up. He has problems with both his right foot and left knee, although the latter appears to be Nicks’ biggest issue at this point. Asked Monday if he’s concerned with the knee, Coughlin replied, “How much concern can I show you?” We’re skeptical Nicks stands any chance of playing in Week 5 against the Browns.

Browns bring back bad memory for Coughlin

The last time the New York Giants faced the Cleveland Browns in a regular season game was on Monday, October 13, 2008, on the road, in a game that many anticipated the then undefeated Giants would dominate their 1-3 opponent. Giants receiver Nicks in doubt for Browns game

Is it the foot, or is it the knee? Well, both, I guess. Nicks had a foot problem originally that the Giants were waiting to heal. In the meantime, his knee has apparently started to swell. New York Giants dominated by injuries: More from an afternoon tea with Tom Coughlin

Now his replacement, Ramses Barden, might be doubtful too with a concussion. “He complained of a headache and asked if he could be evaluated,” Coughlin said, via the team. “They sent him for the evaluation yesterday. Hakeem Nicks don’t dress this nice Juan… Ramses Barden was a name that only the most die hard Giants fans knew just a couple of weeks ago.
