It may have been Tony Gonzalez’s final game. If so the tight-end went out with a fine performance catching 8 passes for 78 yards and a touchdown in the Falcons 28-24 loss to the 49ers in the NFC Championship game. “I’ve been very blessed I don’t want anyone to feel sorry for me,” Gonzalez said at his locker. “I’ve had a great ride, an unbelievable ride. … I have no regrets. Not one. And if there’s anyone out there, media or anyone, even think about saying that I’m going to have regrets, I’m telling you right now, that’s not the case, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.” Gonzalez has suggested he was on the brink of retiring for a few weeks but has always left open the chance he could return. Had the Falcons won the Super Bowl it would have been nearly a guarantee that Gonzalez would retire but now the door remains open. The best catching tight-end to grace the NFL, Gonzalez continued to play at a high level this season. He caught 93 passes for 930 yards and 8 touchdowns this
