FLORHAM PARK—In 1994, fullback Tony Richardson was an undrafted free agent from Auburn on the Dallas Cowboys practice squad. Sixteen years later, he is a four-time Pro Bowler and is looked up to for his on-the-field performances as well as his off-the-field commitments and endeavors. After an illustrious career, many are wondering if 2010 will be his final year in the league. After joining the Kansas City Chiefs’ active roster in 1995, Richardson spent the next 11 years there establishing a reputation as one of the most formidable fullbacks in the league, helping running back Priest Holmes to three, 1000+ yard rushing seasons and earning himself three Pro Bowl appearances. He moved on to the Minnesota Vikings where he provided the same services for running back Adrian Peterson, who also surpassed 1,000 yards behind Richardson in 2007 and earned himself another Pro Bowl selection that year.
