Tony Romo is looking to end his previous December woes and he is really excited by the performance and return of his second favorite target Miles Austin this week. The great receiver is returning from being out for four games from a hamstring injury and has been flying around the practice field. The only questions remaining are can he stay healthy and will the timing relationship still be there between Romo and him? The Dallas Cowboys control their own destiny and Jason Garrett has big expectations for the receiver, he recently stated, “”He can make plays down the field, he can make plays on shorter catches — break catches and beat you that way. He’s also a very good blocker at the receiver position. So I think whenever you have a guy like that out there, teams know about him and will decide to do something to him or not. Guys like that give you an opportunity to open up other parts of your offense.” With the emergence of DeMarco Murray and the return o...

Cowboys will have fully operational arsenal

Let's cover three different Cowboys issues this morning: The Cowboys are preparing for a massive showdown with the New York Giants on Sunday night, and even though the implications of the result speak for themselves, the details of this series are worth visiting. In the first meeting between these two teams in 2006, Tony Romo was substituted into the game at halftime of a Monday...

Miles Austin Returns To Practice

Wide receiver Miles Austin returned to practice Wednesday, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN Dallas. Fantasy Spin: Austin is on target to return to action Sunday vs. the Giants after missing the last four games with his nagging hamstring injury. Cowboys WR Miles Austin Returns To Practice

He suffered a right hamstring injury during a November 6 win over Seattle after hurting his left hamstring in training camp. Austin has 28 catches for 403 yards and four touchdowns in six games this...

Can negative stats work in the Cowboys favor against the Giants?

Have you ever been watching a game and a stat comes up on the screen saying something like a particular quarterback has not thrown an interception in 200+ pass attempts or a defense has not allowed any points in the last two minutes of a game in the last 30+ games? Then of course that quarterback throws an interception at the worst possible time or the defense gives up the touchdown...

Romo and Garrett have family feud

IRVING, Texas — It appears the Giants will face a team Sunday with serious trust issues between its head coach and Pro Bowl quarterback. The latest glaring sign — and lingering source of controversy — that Cowboys coach Jason Garrett isn’t all-in with Tony Romo came in the final seconds of regulation...

Switching From “Is Eli Elite?” to “Just Win, Baby”

As the season goes on, the “Is Eli Elite?” argument has been losing steam.  At this point of the season, Giant fans could care less if Eli was elite or not. They just want him to go on an eight-game winning streak. Steve Serby of the Post decided to give the argument more buoyancy today in his column comparing the Giants Eli Manning to Cowboys QB Tony Romo… Tony...

December Demons Aside, Jason Garrett Isn’t to Blame

Critics love to jump on anything and everything wrong with the Dallas Cowboys. Whether it’s who Tony Romo is currently dating or how many hot dogs Jerry Jones ordered in preparation from the Super Bowl, everything the Cowboys do is put under a ridiculous microscope. Though I’m kidding about that hot dog thing, the Cowboys really are pretty much psycho-analyzed to a point...

Austin, Fiammetta likely back for Cowboys

Receiver Miles Austin and fullback Tony Fiammetta should return this week for the Cowboys' game against the Giants.

Failure to call time out falls more on Garrett than Romo

On Monday, we killed Jason Garrett for becoming the first coach in NFL history (and possibly in all of football history) to ice his own kicker.  On Tuesday, we killed Tony Romo for not calling a time out as soon as he completed a pass to receiver Dez Bryant with 26 seconds to play. It’s…
