Former Giants wide receiver Amani Toomer is making headlines again on a Sunday, not by playing, but by telling ESPN New York 1050 that he would choose Tim Tebow over Mark Sanchez if he were starting a franchise.
“[Tebow] and Sanchez are both not great quarterbacks,” Toomer said. “The only reason why I’d say Tebow is because we’ve seen what Sanchez can do. This is his third year. Tebow hasn’t even started for a whole season. Give the kid an opportunity to prove himself a little bit more and I think he can … work on his technique.”
“I’d rather have a guy with a deficiency like that, but at the end of the day he’s going to put it all on the line and he’s going to play with his heart,” Toomer said. “I’d love that.” – ESPN New York
