Tough not to root for veteran Dane Looker

OK, how do you not root for savvy veteran receiver Dane Looker to make the team? Sorry, but the dude just oozes professionalism. After the Lions signed him last week, Looker made sure to be at his locker on Monday in order to meet reporters. He was prepared with an anecdote about contemplating the meaning of life as he built a deck around his hot tub in Seattle when the Lions called him for a tryout. Um, Lions? Tryout's over. Keep this guy. Not only did Looker have a strong game with three catches for 39 yards, but he is more than proving his worth. He looks good today on the practice field where he went 4-for-4 on field goals, including a 43-yarder into the wind - right after he had been shaken up in a collision with safety Marquand Manuel on a pass play.
