Before the Miami Dolphins lost two of their starting offensive lineman, Jonathan Martin and Richie Incognito, because of the bullying controversy, they needed an upgrade up front.
After the Dolphins cut ties with Incognito and Martin stopped playing and was eventually traded to the San Francisco 49ers to reunite with his college coach at Stanford, Jim Harbaugh, the situation become desperate.

According to Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald, the former Carolina Panther is interested in playing for the Dolphins, but they will not sign him at this time.
Travelle Wharton, 32, who allowed no sacks last season and was rated Pro Football Focus’ fifth-best guard, has interest in Miami, and the Dolphins told his agent that he possibly will be considered only after Miami considers younger options….
