Polian says the Colts have talked with Manning about drafting a QB. I thought I had read quotes a couple of weeks ago about Manning understanding if the Colts have to take Luck, so I didn't really think this was news. Does anyone know the quote I'm referring to?
I did a quick down and dirty look at the idea of NOT taking Luck in favor of the second best QB. Going back to 1990, the first overall QB was a clear winner 6 times, the second one 4 times, 4 times it is a toss up, and 4 times they both ended up sucking horribly. Half of the time the second guy ended up better he was drafted significantly later than the first guy (Rodgers/Smith and Brees/Vick). Two other times the 2nd guy was better it was Dilfer over Shuler and McNabb over Couch. There were a few Ryan/Flacco, Stafford/Sanchez, McNair/Collins, Manning/Rivers/Roethlisberger pairings out there that were just too close to call. After looking at...

Following the team's 10th loss of the season, Colts vice chairman Bill Polian took a moment to stress that Indianapolis' franchise quarterback will indeed be with the franchise next season.
Most embarrassing Peyton manning image I could find.
It was something that probably had to happen sooner or later. A rumor started floating around that Ole Miss might be interested in the services of currently injured Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning to replace Houston Nutt as the school's head football coach. Pey-Pey's obvious family connections to the...
Looking back at the tape it's clear there were plenty of opportunities for the Colts to beat the Jaguars. Mike Chappell writes that one very long drive broke the camel's back:
Through the early part of the third quarter, the Colts played some of their best defense of the season. Jaguars rookie quarterback Blaine Gabbert was ineffective (6-of-12, 48 yards, one interception...
Longtime Ravens kicker Matt Stover will be honored before Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Stover, the kicker on Baltimore's Super Bowl XXXV championship team, retired after he spent the 2009 season with the Indianapolis Colts.
During the 2000 season, Stover carried the offense for a five game period. Those five games saw the Ravens not get in the end zone...
A couple weeks ago Phil Simms confidently, and incorrectly, claimed that Indianapolis Colts franchise quarterback Peyton Manning would never let the Colts draft another quarterback, as long as he is healthy enough to play. Shortly after Peyton let Simms know just how wrong he was. And according to Colts Vice Chairman Bill Polian on weekly [...]

Here’s a fun game of Internet telephone, in which Adam Schefter not reporting anything led to a report of reports about a report.
1. In his weekly Monday mailbag, the ESPN.com reporter and longtime Shanahan confidante received a question about the Redskins’ endless search for a franchise quarterback.

Jaguars 17 Colts 3
When Seth Gorman said Sunday could have been the day for the Indianapolis Colts to finally win a football game, it was hard to argue.
The Indianapolis Colts honored former offensive coordinator Tom Moore before Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. They should have talked Peyton Manning's longtime guru into putting on a headset.
