We are back with our final Turn On The Jets 12 Pack before training camp starts up (WOOHOO!) but before we get into our predictions for the New York Jets final 53 man roster, we have a quick PSA. New TOJ shirts are on sale…RIGHT NOW, RIGHT HERE. Make sure to get your pre-order in now so you can get the size you want. Special thanks to our friends at Bark Tees NY for another job well done.  Disagree with my predictions for the Jets final roster? I want to hear ALL about it in the comment section, on Twitter, Facebook and Google+. 1. Quarterback (3) - Mark Sanchez – Geno Smith – Matt Simms - Not predicting the starter yet, which I don’t think is decided until the third pre-season game. However, I do think Simms sticks over Greg McElroy this year. 2. Running Back (5) - Chris Ivory – Mike Goodson – Bilal Powell – Joe McKnight – Tommy Bohanon - I’ve been a little skittish on McKnight sticking around but I think with the team’s lack of playmakers he hangs on. Bohanon should show enough to allow them to kick Lex Hilliard to the curb. 3. Tight End (3) - Kellen Winslow Jr – Jeff Cumberland – Konrad Reuland - Winslow Jr should end up starting by week one. If he goes down, Cumberland is another receiving tight end. Reuland will fill the blocking role. Veteran help could be added here. 4. Wide Receiver (6)* - Santonio Holmes (PUP LIST won’t count against 53)* – Jeremy Kerley – Stephen Hill – Ben Obomanu – Clyde Gates – Zach Rogers - Personally, I’d rather see another young player like Ryan Spadola or Jordan White stick around over Gates or Obomanu but the Jets will want players with SOME (even if minimal) experience around. Yes, I think Holmes starts the season on the PUP list. Yes, I also think a veteran could be added (Nate Washington?) 5. Offensive Line (9) - D’Brickashaw Ferguson – Willie Colon – Nick Mangold – Brian Winters – Austin Howard – Stephen Peterman – Caleb Schlauderaff – Oday Aboushi – Vlad Ducasse Think the Jets roll with 9 here, with Peterman as the first guy off the bench, both him and Schlauderaff are versatile interior lineman. This year’s mid round draft pick, Aboushi sticks on the roster while King Ugly stays for insurance at tackle (where he worked all spring) not guard. 6. Defensive Line (7) - Muhammad WIlkerson – Kenrick Ellis – Quinton Coples – Sheldon Richardson – Antonio Garay – Damon Harrison – Junior Aumavae - Still counting Quinton Coples here because he’ll be doing more defensive lineman “things” than linebacker ones. The Jets have a nice rotation in place for this season. 7. Linebacker – (7) - David Harris – Demario Davis – Antwan Barnes – Calvin Pace – Garret McIntyre – Josh Mauga – Nick Bellore - A group with plenty to prove. Bellore will stick in primarily a special teams role, while the coaching staff seems to like Mauga’s potential on both defense and special teams. 8. Secondary (11) - Antonio Cromartie – Dee Milliner – Kyle Wilson – Aaron Berry – Darrin Walls - Isaiah Trufant – Dawan Landry – Josh Bush – Antonio Allen – Jaiquawn Jarrett – Rontez Miles - Rex loads up on the defensive backs as he keeps 6 corners and 5 safeties. Trufant beats out Ellis Lankster for the last corner spot and a role on special teams. Either Jarrett or Miles has a chance to be in the mix as the 4th safety and a special teams player, while the other will be inactive most weeks. 9. Specialists (3) - Nick Folk – Robert Malone – Tanner Purdum - EXCITING! 10. Practice Squad - Mike Shanahan (TE), Mike Edwards (CB), Hayden Smith (TE), Ryan Spadola (WR), WIlliam Campbell (OG), JoJo Dickson (LB), Dalton Freeman (C), Mark Popek (OT) 11. When Holmes comes back off the PUP list, don’t be surprised if the Jets drop Gates or Obomanu as I think Rogers will have shown enough potential by that point to stick around. 12. Positions where the Jets are most likely to add veterans in training camp – Wide Receiver. Offensive Tackle. Safety.
