The Kirk Morrisons of the world certainly stick together.
And there will be two of them meeting for the first time and wearing Morrison No. 58 Bills jerseys at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Sunday, when Buffalo (5-2) hosts the New York Jets (4-3) in a midseason AFC East showdown.
''I'm pumped up about it,'' Kirk Morrison, the Bills linebacker said.
''It's always nice to meet another Kirk Morrison,'' added Kirk Morrison, a 20-year-old marketing major from University of Regina in Canada's prairie province of Saskatchewan.
It's a unique meeting brought on by Twitter.
Before signing with the Bills in late August, Morrison was a free agent and aware he was going to be switching teams for the third time in seven NFL seasons. And with the change of teams, he also knew he would likely be switching numbers after wearing 52 during five seasons in Oakland and 55 Jacksonville last year.

Dear Mr. Wilson, Fred Jackson of the Buffalo Bills is hard-working, determined and never gives up to achieve his goal. He is the ultimate underdog and the same can be said about the Buffalo Bills organization. The once proud franchise and winner of four consecutive AFC Championships continues to be determined to get back to their glory days. Fred Jackson is a key part of that equationā...
Bills WR Donald Jones was full go at practice Thursday a day after being limited in practice. Head coach Chan Gailey was encouraged by the receiverās progress.
āHeās looked a lot better,ā said Gailey.Ā āHeās done everything in practice. I can tell heās not 100 percent so weāll see, he may get to play on Sunday.ā
Jones has been anxious to return after missing the...
ORCHARD PARK -- Overlooked and discounted for much of his career, Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson canāt even get a break in his own home.
āMy wife took me in the fifth round,ā Jackson said, shaking his head in mock frustration while discussing where his wife, Danielle, selected...
The stat and film review junkies at Pro Football Focus have put together their midseason list for NFL MVP candidates and Fred Jackson has cracked the top 3.
Hereās the take of the folks at PFF on Fred.
3. Fred Jackson, HB, Buffalo Bills
An third place finish for Jackson, who has done more for the Bills than anyone could have imagined. Jackson is the most elusive back in the league...
Jets coach Rex Ryan went way back today in complimenting the Bills' defensive front, particularly rookie defensive lineman Marcell Dareus.
Said Ryan: "Dareus reminds meĀ ...Ā the way he's playing and the way Big Wiggle as I used to call him is playing - Dwan Edwards - they remind me of Ron McDole and Tom Sestak, the No. 70 that used to play in the AFL days."
Many fans, analysts, and columnists saw the Buffalo Bills as a mediocre team at best searching hard for the next decade to reach .500. Here we are past the halfway point of the season and the resurgent Bills will likely be neck and neck with the New England Patriots for the division title. This is a considerable comparison to the 2008 Miami Dolphins.
Can the Bills sustain...
Its strange to write about the Jets heading to lovely Western New York trying to unseat the 1st place Bills. I donāt think words like that have been laid to paper in well over a decade. But nonetheless, the Jets head to Ralph Wilson stadium to try and take down the 5-2 Bills, while rooting for the cross-town Giants to hand the 5-2 Patriots their second loss in as many weeks. With...
Here are the pertinent and painful numbers from the Redskins 23-0 loss to the Buffalo Bills at the Rogers Center in Toronto, Ontario.
262 - Yards passing from Ryan Fitzpatrick, on an extremely efficient 20 of 27 day. He had two touchdowns, and in parts of the game, picked apart the Redskins secondary seemingly at will.
208 - Yard passing for John Beck. When you remove the yards...
