Philly Sports Muse:
The Philadelphia Eagles had two members of its team appear in the NFL Network’s countdown of the top 100 players of 2012 this week. That’s good, right?
The not-so-good part is that the players were ranked far lower this year than last. But given the Eagles 8-8 season in 2011, that is hardly a surprise.
CB Nnamdi Asomugha, the free agent prize of the 2011 offseason, saw his standing among his NFL peers fall from a ranking of #18 in 2011 to 79 in 2012.
As Eagles fans well know, Asomugha struggled with a new team and a new defensive coordinator to find the best way to utilize his talents in a crowded Eagles defensive backfield.
The second member of the Eagles to appear on the list is WR DeSean Jackson. D-Jacc was ranked at #71 this year, while last year being named the 29th best player in the league. Jackson is ranked as the 22nd wideout in the league in 2011 with 961 total yards and 4 touchdowns.
Jackson’s season was famously tainted by his very public desire for a long-term de...

In the 4th round of the 2012 draft, with the 123rd overall selection the Philadelphia Eagles picked Brandon Boykin, a 5-9, 182 corner from Georgia.
Boykin is a tremendously versatile athlete and the Eagles were widely hailed for the selection, including the fact that the pickup was a tremendous value. NFL.com’s Bucky Brooks calls Boykin a “multidimensional weapon,” an intriguing...
The Philadelphia Eagles have never had held an offseason camp exclusively for rookies. But they will be holding the first this weekend, a product of the new collective bargaining agreement.
44 players have been invited to attend–drafted players, undrafted players, and those who have been on practice squads around the league but never yet made it to an NFL roster.
Head coach Andy...
Many observers felt the Eagles' two biggest needs going into the draft were outside linebacker and safety. They addressed the first one early on in the draft, selecting speedy Mychael Kendricks of Cal, a three-down linebacker who will move to the head of the depth-chart line at SAM. But they didn't take a safety with any of their nine picks. They did sign one after the...
Cal Linebacker Mychal Kendricks was one of 4 Eagles draft picks that have already signed with the team.
One benefit of the NFL’s new Collective Bargaining Agreement is that draftees are signing contracts much faster than in the past because of the rookie wage scale. As a result, the Philadelphia Eagles have already agreed to terms with a number of their picks already, just ahead...
The Philadelphia Eagles announced on Thursday that they had come to terms with DE Vinny Curry, OT Dennis Kelly and WR Marvin McNutt. All 3 signed 4-year deals.
The Philadelphia Eagles have now signed four of their nine 2012 draft picks., with LB Mychal Kendricks signing with the team on Tuesday.
According to Albert Breer of the NFL Network, the Philadelphia Eagles have signed second round pick and former Cal linebacker Mychal Kendricks to a four-year deal.
Kendricks has a chance at competing for a starting spot at linebacker, after last season’s horrific play on defense.
Kendricks racked up 98 tackles, 3 sacks and 2 interceptions last season at Cal.
Per an official release from the team:
The Philadelphia Eagles today announced they have signed rookie free agent QB Jacory Harris.
A three-year starter at Miami (FL), Harris (6-4, 195) compiled 8,826 passing yards and 70 touchdowns, while adding five rushing scores. He finished his career ranked second in school history in both yards and touchdowns, behind Ken Dorsey (9,486...
In an effort for continued growth here at Eagles Addict, I’m proud to announce that a new writer will be joining myself and Ron Pasceri — his name is Jasen Shen.
Jasen is a knowledgable and level-headed Eagles fan and will bring his own flavor of analysis and opinion to the site. Don’t let his left-coast residence fool you, he “bleeds green” from...
So, I watched T.O.’s appearance on Dr. Phil on Tuesday. And it was just sad.
It was sad seeing a man with little maturity and no sense of responsibility in the midst of ruining the lives four innocent children.
Four children by four different women. You have to ask questions about the decision-making abilities of all involved, especially baby mamas 3 and 4, but in the end, it’s...
In early July 2011, Vince Young was waived by the Tennessee Titans and promptly picked up by the Philadelphia Eagles, who agreed to a one-year contract with Young. Young played in only 6 games that season for Philadelphia, getting off to a very rough 1-2 start.
At present, Young is without a team, which seems a little preposterous at this point in his career.
He has, however, worked...
The Eagles locked up four draft picks, including second-round defensive end Vinny Curry and linebacker Mychal Kendricks, with four-year deals. Fifth-rounder Dennis Kelly, a defensive tackle, and sixth-rounder Marvin McNutt, a wide receiver from Iowa, also signed. The Eagles have high hopes for their two second-round picks. Kendricks was the 46th overall pick and agreed to his...
