On the way to Drew Brees breaking Dan Marino's single-season passing record, the Saints scored a whole lot of touchdowns, and the Falcons resorted to a whole lot of field goals. One writer and an unnamed Falcons player had a problem with the Saints continuing to pass when they were up by 22 points.
It was a questionable decision to say the least to go for it in that manner since the Saints have another game to break the record ... The players I talked to all thought it was classless.
"No need for that," one player said. "It came on our watch, but it didn't have to come that way. We won't forget it."
Yes, those sentences were written about an NFL game between divisional rivals, not the pre-season scrimmage played on a Pop Warner field. I have to agree with Falcons linebacker Sean Weatherspoon's take on the game.
"No man, it's our job to stop them," said linebacker Sean Weatherspoon, who missed New Orleans running back Darren Sproles ...

Quarterback Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints gives a heart warming speech after breaking the single-season passing record in the fourth quarter against the Atlanta Falcons at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans — Drew Brees is a real class act…I would be surprised if he didn’t become a politician after football. -TO

They should be salty.
Not at Brees or Sean Payton, but at themselves for allowing Brees to slice up their secondary. If I was on the Falcons I would want to come back and play the Saints in the Playoffs and take my soul back.
With Drew Brees a mere 30 yards away from breaking the single-season passing yards record, Saints coach Sean Payton was presented with an interesting dilemma...
Once he watches the game replay, Drew Brees will be hard on himself.
The New Orleans Saints quarterback will bemoan throwing two uncharacteristic passes into double coverage that were intercepted. He will feel just as badly about trying to call consecutive timeouts late in the second quarter, which is a Football 101 rules violation. There were 16 incompletions and three second-half...

Kellen Moore is short. Because of that, he's projected as a sixth-round NFL draft pick. Moore may not be the next Drew Brees, but he could be close, says Stewart Mandel in the Mailbag.

San Antonio Spurs fans showed why they’re one of the best, most loyal fan bases in the NBA, not to mention how desperate they were for the season to start. Aside from selling out the AT&T center for opening night against the Memphis Grizzlies, the game was the highest rated primetime program on Monday night. This was even more impressive considering there was a Monday...

S/O to Robby D for joining us in studio. He may have been in a Hubba’s chilli coma, but he pimped out.

It’s nice to see the Jets really not have a chance to make the playoffs. They need some help. I’m pulling for the Bengals this year. They deserve to make the playoffs for their efforts in that division. The AFC West is good… NOT
