Eagles QB Michael Vick will miss the Eagles’ Week 6 game against Tampa Bay, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.
The 33-year old Vick threw for 105 yards and ran for 77 on the ground before departing Sunday’s contest with the New York Giants with a hamstring injury.
2nd-year man Nick Foles stepped up in a big way, throwing for 197 yards and 2 touchdowns to help seal the Eagles’ victory.
Foles, now 24, lost the starting QB battle in training camp, but now has a chance to cement himself and make the decision even harder for Chip Kelly. Kelly said earlier that the Eagles feel as if they have 2 quarterbacks capable of winning in the NFL.
While Foles does not move as well as Vick, he does move fairly well for a man of his size. His arm is fast and accurate, and he made a few tremendous plays against the Giants on Sunday. Eagles fans should be excited to see what Foles does in Vick’s absence.
