Fox Sports Southwest:
IRVING Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns is personal for Cowboys fullback Lawrence Vickers.
Vickers, who is in his seventh NFL season, spent his first five years with the Browns.
"It's personal for me because I was there, I know these guys, I know this organization," Vickers said Thursday. "I was there and when you've put in five years of your life and you put all you put into it, it's going to be personal to you.
"It's not that I'm mad. I'm not mad or upset at all. Cleveland gave me a chance. They were the team that picked me in the draft so I'm forever indebted to them. They gave me a chance to do what I always wanted to do and that was play football, so it's no hate. It's more of celebrating."
Vickers suffered a left knee injury Sunday in Philadelphia. He did not practice Wednesday and was limited on Thursday. But it will take more than a sore knee to keep him from playing against the team that drafted him in the sixth round in 2006.
Asked if he would play Sunday, Vickers, who had two rushes for 11 yards and two receptions for 18 yards against the Eagles, responded: "Oh, come on now."
What would it take for him to miss the game?
"For me to die," Vickers said. "I ain't missing this for nothing in the world. It's personal, believe that one."

Pat Shurmur spoke to the media following the team’s practice on Wednesday and spoke about rookie QB Brandon Weeden-
(On one aspect of Brandon Weeden’s game that has to improve over the rest of the season)- “Don’t throw interceptions. Done, end of story. I want to be right to the point.”
(On if he worries about Weeden being more tentative after hearing he needs to throw...
Below is an update on legendary Cleveland Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar. The following tweets were taken directly from Bernie’s Twitter feed dating back to the middle of last month and haven’t been edited or altered in any way.
Good news for Browns fans, they did not lose last week. Can they continue this non-losing streak? Doubtful.
After a rough Week 10, I'm sitting at 92-54-1. Who wants to keep track of a tie.
Let's see if I can turn this around this week.
Arizona at Atlanta - The Cards need to get some production from the QB position if they want any chance to make playoff...
Cleveland Browns CB Joe Haden did not participate in practice on Friday. Haden was injured in practice on Wednesday and sat out Thrusday with the oblique injury.
His status for Sunday’s game is certainly in jeopardy.
Pat Shurmur said that Haden “felt better” today, but they will wait and make a game-time decision on him.
[Related: Haden sits out with oblique injury]
Joe Haden isn’t used to losing. He was a National Champion at the University of Florida and after his junior season, Haden decided to forgo his senior season and entered the NFL Draft. He was selected by the Browns in the first round in 2010. Haden has become one of the few shutdown corners left in the NFL, he’s physical and a tenacious competitor. He’s also itching to be a...
An obviously frustrated Josh Cribbs let loose on the coaching staff and whoever in front of him. He’s clearly not in a good place right now. Cribbs sounded off harshly to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plains Dealer, and didn’t pull any punches.
"I've talked to the head coach but there's no point. Obviously they feel like everybody that's in front of me is...
Browns CEO Joe Banner has spent his first weeks on the job assessing, evaluating and questioning. Soon, he'll start making changes - and some of them could be major.
Banner, who spent 19 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles before he was hired by new Cleveland owner Jimmy Haslam, said Friday he remains ''open-minded'' about coach Pat Shurmur, whose future with...

BEREA, Ohio (AP) -- When he was a kid, Browns kicker Phil Dawson worshipped the Dallas Cowboys.
In Texas, it's mandatory.
"Unless you grow up in Houston," Dawson said. "The rest of the state is Cowboys and that's all you did was follow the Cowboys."
And that he did.
Like many boys growing up deep in the heart of the Lone Star state, where football and...
Browns cornerback Joe Haden was missing from Friday's practice and will be a game-time decision for Sunday's game against Dallas.Fantasy Spin:The Browns need Haden to play against all the quality receivers the Cowboys can throw at you. If he doesn't play it adds value to Dez Bryant and Miles Austin.
"So, you like...stuff?"
The Browns travel to Dallas on Sunday after
what was hopefully a fruitful bye week. There are still two months left in the
season, and before the depressing NFL draft
discussion really cranks up as it does in Cleveland around
Thanksgiving most every year, what else is there for Browns fans to ponder over
the final seven games?
Lots of quotes came out of Dallas Cowboys practice in the last 24 hours, including two notable former Browns.
Let’s start with the fullback. Lawrence Vickers, a 2006 6th-round pick by the Browns, left as a free agent following the 2010 season. Here were his comments on facing his former team, as reported by ESPNDallas.com:
“It’s personal, why wouldn’t it be? It anybody tells...
