Philly Sports World:
Tomorrow night will be an emotional night at Lincoln Financial Field. Brian Dawkins, one of the greatest Eagles ever to don the green, will be honored with something that is reserved for only the most special players – he will have his jersey, #20, retired forever. Dawkins symbolized everything that the city of Philadelphia stood for in his 13 years with the Eagles. He made no excuses. was emotional, honest, hard-hitting and left every drop of his soul on the field every game. He expected the same from every one of his teammates too, making him an unquestioned leader of some of the best Eagles teams in recent memory. There will never be another Brian Dawkins.

Brian Dawkins was the greatest defensive player I ever saw play in the NFL. He really was the complete package at free safety for the Philadelphia Eagles during the late 90s and throughout the 2000s. He had the speed and athleticism you wanted in a safety. He was also one of the most feared hard-hitters in the league and one of the smartest safeties to ever play the game. He was...
