The Tampa Bay Buccaneers showed that their defense means business, even if the other team is in their victory formation.

During the Buccaneers game against the Dallas Cowboys Sunday afternoon, the Bucs defense once again tried to blitz during the Cowboys victory formation stance.
With only a few seconds left on the clock and with the Cowboys with the 16-10 lead, Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano called a timeout, after having his defense blitz Romo before the timeout, yelling at his defense players in the huddle to play harder against Cowboys and "go for a blitz" against Romo.
As both teams lined up and Romo received the snap to attempt the final play of the game, a QB kneel, the Bucs tried once again to sack Romo, but instead failed to achieve their objective.

Romo: Big hits part of playing QB in the NFL

ARLINGTON The Cowboys offensive line didn't do Tony Romo many favors in Sunday's home opener. Romo was sacked four times and hit hard after several throws. After the game, Romo said the 16-10 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was one of the "most physically tough" games he's played in. He then joked that he'd probably be using some ice packs tonight....

Tony Romo takes helmet-to-helmet hit on Bucs sack (video)

Poor Tony Romo, not only did he get destroyed on this sack by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Gerald McCoy but he didn't even get a penalty for a helmet-to-helmet hit from the replacement officials:

Greg Schiano's Buccaneers Blitz Tony Romo As Cowboys Line Up in Victory Formation (Video)

The Buccaneers are hardly a consistent team, but Greg Schiano is at least consistent in his coaching philosophies. Schiano again dialed up a blitz as the opposing team's offense lined up in victory formation. It was Tony Romo and the Cowboys who had to stave off Tampa Bay's late-game bull rush this week. Schiano, of course, took a lot of heat following the Bucs' Week...

Dallas Cowboys tweak secondary, still get results

Morris Claiborne had one tackle. Mike Jenkins had one tackle. Brandon Carr had zero tackles. Gerald Sensabaugh didn't play and other starting safety Barry Church was lost for the year with a ruptured Achilles.  If you were to look solely at the stats, you would likely be disappointed with how the Dallas Cowboys secondary played yesterday. But, as is common in the NFL, the...

Defense rises up

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Tony Romo was satisfied even after being sacked four times and turning the ball over three times in the Dallas Cowboys' home opener.

Are the Cowboys headed to a losing record?

Tony Romo, Dez Bryant and the Dallas Cowboys could be facing a disappointing 1-2 start if they do not fix the problems that led them to a head-scratching blowout loss against the Seattle Seahawks last week. The loss led many fans and critics to wonder what kind of the team the Cowboys are this year? Although the first weeks of the NFL season always contain a degree of parody, a loss...

Video: More Debacles for NFL Replacement Refs

It’s been a tough season so far for the replacement officials in the NFL. It seems to be obvious to almost every NFL player, coach and fan, who’s name isn’t Roger Goodell, that the replacement reps aren’t up to par with the currently locked out officials. We all know that the old officials made mistakes, but the amount of mistakes seemed miniscule compared to what we’ve...

Freeman, Bucs held down by Cowboys

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys finally had some short scoring drives, and needed them. There also were a couple of extra kneel-downs by Romo before the Cowboys had secured a 16-10 victory Sunday in their home opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Romo was unscathed on those extra snaps when the Bucs, a week after their big push against the New York...

Bucs fail to produce in road loss to Cowboys

When it comes to hanging tough on the road against NFC East powerhouses, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are getting far more experience than they'd like these days. And much to their dismay, they're also finding themselves with plenty of time to practice head coach Greg Schiano's controversial blitz-the-victory formation call. Even with some impressive play along the way...

Cowboys 16, Buccaneers 10

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Dallas Cowboys rode their defense to overcome a mistake-prone Tony Romo and beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 16-10 Sunday afternoon before of a crowd of 81,984 at Cowboys Stadium. Romo turned the ball over three times, but Dallas' defense allowed just one touchdown and 166 total yards as the Cowboys improved to 2-1 in their home opener. The Buccaneers...

Bucs offense quite offensive in loss to Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by a score of 16-10. However, the score could have been one less touchdown for the Bucs as their offense could not get anything going. Tampa Bay started off quick when Aqib Talib stepped in front of Cowboys’ wide receiver Miles Austin to intercept the pass from Tony Romo. Josh Freeman would go on to throw a one yard touchdown pass...
