DeSean Jackson and the Thanksgiving shopping spree. Image via @EaglesCommunity
There’s not much to feel about with regard to the performance of the Philadelphia Eagles on the field this Thanksgiving. However, wideout DeSean Jackson used his celebrity and place in the community to help a family in need with their holiday grocery shopping.
Jackson invited Trina Houston and her two grandsons, one of whom is bound to a wheelchair, to load out at what they needed at the grocery store. The boys’ mother Samantha was tragically murdered three years ago and their grandmom is doing the best she can to support them. The season may be a wash but if you want a moment where you feel proud of members of this team, watch this video.
Oh yes, and you’ll also be amused at the adorable, inquisitive young men, one of whom asks directly,”DeSean, what happened last weekend?”
We’d love to know that as well. But alas..
Happy Thanksgiving!

Fear and Loathing on the Philadelphia Eagles
At 3-7, the Philadelphia Eagles’ owner Jeffrey Lurie and the Philly fan base are afraid and disgusted with the result of the 2012 season. Afraid because of the constant possibility of making the wrong decision in firing longtime head coach Andy Reid and disgusted with how often Reid has let everyone down season after season. Whenever you make a change at Head Coach, it’s a lot...
Eagles Andy Reid’s Rope Keeps Getting Shorter
Written By Clifford San Monica As for the other dunderhead whose poor judgment this past Sunday cost his team their most gifted offensive player as well, Andy Reid pretty much said that “Players want to play” whatever the circumstances and, well, that’s why Le Sean McCoy was in the game at a point where the game was no longer winnable. Question: Who’s the parent (so to speak...
Eagles Will Give Nick Foles Another Start On Monday
Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that his sources have informed him that the Eagles have made the decision to go with rookie Nick Foles as their starting quarterback against the Panthers on Monday.
Michael Vick is reportedly still only in the Phase 1 of the league’s concussion protocol, so there’s at least some question as to whether or not he’ll be available...
Eagles Odds and Ends: McCoy, Brown, Foles, MNF
The look into the future will most likely continue this week on MNF as LeSean McCoy is still in stage 1 of his recovery from a concussion. Filling in will be Bryce Brown the rookie who in limited action has shown he is worthy of the start. Brown who has gained over 4 yards a carry should get the majority if not all of McCoy’s workload will get the chance to showcase his talent...
Marty Mornhinweg Explains DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin's Lack Of Involvement
When a team's top two receivers combine for two catches during a game when the quarterback attempts 46 passes, it's a problem. Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg did not hide from that fact after Jeremy Maclin (zero catches) and DeSean Jackson (two catches, five yards) were non-factors against the Redskins last week.
"That was terrible last game," Mornhinweg...
Eagles QB Michael Vick Moves To Phase 2 Of Concussion Recovery
Eagles trainer Rick Burkholder confirmed Friday through an Eagles spokesman that quarterback Michael Vick has been advanced into phase two in his recovery from a concussion, Reuben Frank of CSN Philadelphia reports.
The Eagles have not officially ruled out Vick for their nationally televised game Monday night against the Panthers at the Linc, although hes still an enormous longshot...
Eagles Injury Report: Michael Vick, LeSean McCoy Likely Out for MNF
The Philadelphia Eagles can't catch a break. After losing in their first full game with Nick Foles as their quarterback, the team was at least hoping they'd have the option of going back to Michael Vick. However, it looks like both Vick and stand-out running back LeSean McCoy will be out on Monday night.
Both Vick and McCoy are still in phase one of the NFL'...
Nnamdi is not comfortable playing Eagles zone...
Not piling on Nnamdi Asomugha here...we regularly note at the Eye upon the good plays and tough assignments that should be credited to Aso, despite the fact he rarely gets public acclaim in Philly for the good plays he makes.
Everyone instead focuses on his breakdowns in zone coverage. In a way, Nnamdi's zone coverage snafu'...
QB Nick Foles and RB Bryce Brown expected to start for Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night
Rookies RB Bryce Brown and QB Nick Foles will lead the Eagle offense on Monday Night against the Carolina Panthers.
Nick Foles will see the bright lights of Monday Night Football for the first time as he returns as the Eagles starting quarterback for the second straight game. Foles’ start is expected as the Philadelphia Eagles face the Carolina Panthers this week. Mike Vick is...
Rookie Bryce Brown about to get his shot
Bryce Brown watched football on television last Thanksgiving, wondering if he would ever get a chance to play in the NFL after a brief, checkered collegiate career.
Now the rookie running back is preparing for his first start since 2008. In front of a national TV audience, no less.
With LeSean McCoy sidelined by a concussion, Brown is expected to get a bulk of the carries when...
The Eagles are awesome at firing the wrong people
You’re Fired! Even though I unclear as to the reason why…
A strange story out of the Novacare seems to point to a Philadelphia Eagles organization that, both on and off the field, simply doesn’t have a clue.
News of a firing by the Eagles broke overnight. If you’re wondering why there’s no hubbub over it, it’s because it was of someone who has nothing to do with the mess...
Report: Vick, McCoy likely won’t play this week
According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, with both LeSean McCoy and Michael Vick still in phase 1 of their recovery from the concussions they suffered, it’s unlikely they’ll play on Monday night against the Panthers.
Nick Foles will likely get the start for Vick, while Bryce Brown will start in place of McCoy.

That Taylor Swift/Andy Reid Parody Song Is Pretty Good
I can’t explain it but when this Taylor Swift parody song about Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid called – We Are Never Ever Gonna Win With Andy – I didn’t think I would like it. In fact, I waited a couple of days before I even watched the video. Maybe because it was using a Swift song, I thought it would be cheesy or another YouTubers failed attempt at humor. You know...
It's Time for Reid and Turner To Be Relieved as Head Coaches
When it comes to finding out whether or not head coaches are getting through to their teams, the biggest indication is if the team is giving their maximum effort. Looking at the performances of the Philadelphia Eagles and San Diego Chargers last Sunday, it appears the respective coaches have lost their team. The Eagles lost 31-6 to the Washington Redskins, which drops the team to...
