5TH QUARTER MAGAZINE:
Last weekend, the Pittsburgh Steelers traveled to home of the Oakland Raiders to face off in a heated rivalry on and off the field.
The video surfaced recently between Steelers fan in a Ben Roethlisberger jersey got into a confrontation with an Oakland fan wearing a Jim Plunkett jersey at the Coliseum.
Both fans get in some quick punches (in the case of the Raiders fan, those appear to be slaps) and the fight goes on for twenty seconds until the Steelers fan attempts to stop it by telling the Oakland fan to leave.

The Steelers running game is tied for last in the league through the first 3 weeks of the season (3 way tie with the Raiders and Titans). Pittsburgh is averaging just 2.6 yds per rush and has a combined pitiful 195 yds total rushing. If that doesn’t make you cringe as a Steeler fan, I don’t know what will.
The offense hasn’t ranked that low in rushing in 62 years; one can only...
The Pittsburgh Steelers get back to action following the bye week at home against the 3-1 Philadelphia Eagles. Pittsburgh carries a 1-2 record with embarrassing loses to the Broncos and Raiders and the lone win coming at home over the Jets. Despite the losing record Ben Roethlisberger is having arguably his best start to a season to date. Ben has thrown for 904 yds 8 TD’s and...
James Harrison took to twitter to pronounce "God willing, I will be playing Sunday against the eagles!" He's been out for the team's 1-2 start after feeling discomfort from his August knee surgery. He reportedly had a "little bit of a setback" when he returned to practice last week, according to his agent Bill Parise, but the bye week cna be just...
Despite their 1-2 start to the season, the Pittsburgh
Steelers could receive a significant boost this weekend on both sides of the
football. Running back Rashard Mendenhall and linebacker James Harrison could
make their season debuts for Pittsburgh, while safety Troy Polamalu could
return from an injury that’s kept him out the past two weeks.
Harrison and Polamalu...
This is going to be a quiet Sunday afternoon in Pittsburgh. With the 1-2 Pittsburgh Steelers on their bye week, many fans will get a long look at what the rest of the NFL has to offer. One thing they will like see during any game they may choose is a solid running game, something that has been lacking in the Steelers offensive attack throughout the first three weeks of the season...
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been waiting for RB Rashard Mendenhall to return to the lineup since the start of the season. They won’t have to wait much longer as the team expects to start Mendenhall in week five against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Steelers are hoping the infusion of Mendenhall back in the lineup will help to jump start a sagging rushing attack.
It’s hard to imagine that our beloved Steelers are sitting at 1-2, and may be facing a must win situation this Sunday against the Eagles. It’s even harder to think that in week 5 you have a must win game period. The proverbial “there’s a lot of football left” adage does indeed still ring true, but digging yourself out of a potential 1-3 hole is not exactly confidence inspiring...
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall is expected to return from an ACL injury this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, ESPN.com reported Monday. The Steelers could use a healthy Mendenhall as they come off a bye averaging just 65 rushing yards a game and 2.6 yards per carry, both rank 31st in the NFL. Mendenhall sustained the knee injury during the final regular...
Rashard Mendenhall (knee) is expected to make his season debut this Sunday against the Eagles. His health is far from a guarantee, which is why I am benching him in all leagues this week. That being said, he should be watched carefully this weekend, as his Steelers have plenty of juicy matchups ahead.
After they host the Eagles, they only have three good run defenses left on the...
Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison sent out a tweet today indicating that he’s hopeful that he’ll be on the field for this week’s game against the Eagles.
God willing, I will be playing Sunday against the eagles!
— James Harrison (@jharrison9292) October 1, 2012
The good news is that he did practice on Monday.
I will never be the one to say any regular season matchup with the Steelers is predictable...but the Eagles have a terrific chance to go into Game 5 of the 2012 season with Pittsburgh and set the tone for a playoff run.
You may say it's too early to begin speaking of playoffs ("Playoffs! Are you kidding me!!), but to come out of Heinz Field this Sunday with a "...
Injured Steelers James Harrison and Troy Polamalu practiced on
Monday as the team returned from its bye week.
The Philadelphia Eagles currently have the 4th best defense in the National Football League and will bring their athleticism and fire to Heinz Field Sunday afternoon to take on the Steelers. As we have seen with few exceptions so far in the 2012 season, there really isn’t a truly dominant defense to be found.
The Eagles run a 4-3 defense which isn’t exactly typical in terms of...

On a bye.
