Minnesota Vikings cornerback Benny Sapp was cited for misdemeanor assault with security officers Friday at - of all places - the Children's Memorial Hospital in Minneapolis.
Sapp was dropping off his wife and 11-year-old son when he had two incidents with security while attempting to use a blocked exit, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
The 30-year-old Sapp, who was handcuffed while police interviewed him, was charged with fifth-degree assault and careless driving. The latter charge came when he attempted to drive while a security guard stood in front of his vehicle, the newspaper reported.
The Vikings have said they are aware of the incident, but did not issue a formal statement.
